Same outcome as the Tyson / Marciano thread, 3-5 rounds max. No sub 200lb man is going to beat a prime '88 Tyson. Doesn't make any difference how much heart the other guy has, when you are outsped and outgunned you aren't getting the result you want. Joe Frazier had as much heart as anyone in the ring but it meant sweet fa when he met Foreman twice.
This is as accurate as it gets, and I love Dempsey. Even the punchers chance wouldn't come into play in this one, Tyson was too quick and his punch resistance in the 80's too high for anyone to take him out with one shot. Dempsey definitely wouldn't have been afraid of Tyson the way a lot of guys were, but that would have been irrelevant once Tyson got to work.
Yeah, but let's not forget Jess Willard was 6''6 and 245lbs, lost to Dempsey. Also, Foreman beat Frazier because he hit harder and was a slugger (bad style for Frazier). The weight difference was only about 11lbs between Frazier and Foreman. That said I think Tyson steamrolls Dempsey.
You missed an important qualifier. No sub 200lb man is going to beat a prime '88 Tyson, except perhaps Dempsey!
