Usyk is the real deal, he was tremendous, reducing Gassiev to a predictable plodder. He exposed him as one dimensional with little head movement or idea how to cut off the ring ,Gassiev was totally out boxed. Usyk moved like a welter weight, great conditioning, movement ,variation of punches ,and hand speed. He will be a real force if he moves up and trouble for anyone!
Nice of you to come around. Usyk has a top chin too. My thoughts when he turned pro were Usyk could be as good or better than Povetkin. I think Usyk could be an interesting fighter as he's who the answer many old-time boxing fans have been looking for. A guy below 215 pounds can be the lineal champion today in a land of giants. I would not pick him over Joshua today, but I'd take him over Povetkin today, who just might TKO Joshua.
I'm extremely impressed with him I became a believer after watching box Joe Joyce's ears off. Thinking about how Mildenberger made Ali look rather ordinary for several rounds you could see Usyk giving him or anyone else trouble. The thing is Usyk didn't have to worry about a jab coming back at him from Gassiev.
