The more i watch and the more i read the less impressed i am with Dempsey, I see noting which Dempsey does that Marciano cant handle. Marcianos TKOs Dempsey in round 11 or 12 for me, Rockys divisionwas not out standing but he fought some of not all the top guys around over the period he was champion, Dempsey didnt if Dempsey was fighting the top guys of his era more often he would have plenty more L's.

Marciano wins here. The only advantage Dempsey has is his hand and foot speed, which in this slugfest wouldn't be the major factor. Dempsey had a good chin but it wasn't Marcianos, and Marciano has the edge in stamina as well. Punching power also goes to The Rock. Another factor is Marciano wouldn't be the smaller man in there.

This would be a GREAT fight, but I think Marciano would take it. Probably by late KO with both hitting the canvas.

This would be a great slugfest...Winner gets Frazier???? I like both but would lean towards Rock withstanding an early assault, wearing dempsey down and sealing the deal around rd 9.

The only areas where Marciano is superior is one shot power and condition,Dempsey had better hand speed ,faster footwork, better evasive qualities, and tougher skin,he also had a better variety pf punches.Your statement makes me doubt your knowledge of the Mannassa Mauler.

This IMO is he best matchup for HW that could ever be thought of but to who wins I ot no clue

Dempsey could get to marciano early caus marciano is a slowwer starter were as dempsey is a very fast starter so that would pose some problems for marciano

on the other hand Mario who had argubly the best stamina in HW history could take Dempsey into the late rounds were he is there to bee taken out due to his lack of stamina

Most likly sernario is that Marcio can weather the storm and take Dempey out in the later round or Win a UD but Dempsey will always have a chance as this is the thoughest fight to call IMO

Always thought Dempsey's initial onslaught would get big results and that he could contend with Marciano if the fight went later than expected.

" the only advantage Dempsey has is hand and foot speed".Well thats won plenty of fights! Dempsey would be the bigger man in height , and reach ,weight, a couple of pounds advantage to Dempsey.

I dont think height and reach plays a major factor in here for two reasons. One, Marciano ALWAYS was giving up height and reach so thats nothing new, and two, it would be a toe to toe fight where reach isn't as important as in say an Ali vs. Holmes match.

I wouldn't be betting anything on this, it would be a war and either man could win. But I think Marcianos edge in chin and power is the difference.

If the fight were to take place today: Dempsey might just stop Marciano in the first few rounds. He had faster hands and was very explosive. Rocky would still be able to argue with the ref that he could've gone on. I'll believe he could have.

If the fight happened when standing more or less kept you in the fight: Marciano outlasts Dempsey and stops him some time after the 10th.

I think the first 3-4 rounds would be brutal for Marciano. Rocky would be battered something awful.

After the 4th, Marciano would still receive some damage. Marciano would also be delving out a bit of damage himself.

Dempsey would still be ahead after 8, but Marciano would now be giving better than he's taking.

After the 10th, Demspey's fast twitch muscle fibers will have been killed off. Marciano will still be dropping bombs, and stop Dempsey around 11 or 12.

What makes you think Marciano had more will and determination than Dempsey?

He had better stamina, which for me is key. Besides, who ever had more will and determination than the Rock?
