Marciano would get knocked out early by Dempsey, Foreman, Tyson and Liston. Luckly he didn't face a ATG that style when he was fighting. Archie Moore was not in their league as a heavy.

What? Archie Moore was is ATG heavyweight puncher in his own right.

Marciano hopped up after a 1 count in the very first round and proceeded to beat Moore senseless.

Did we ever see Marciano get knocked down and later punched out of the ring during a title fight?

For the record, Marciano went down for a 1 count vs. Moore. Archie is an ATG puncher at heavyweight. Marciano got up and beat him down for a KO victory.

Dempsey, on the other hand, got knocked down and humiliated by Tunney, who, outside of beating Dempsey TWICE, didn't do anything to rival Moore's heavyweight resume.

Round 4, Dempsey Tunney II, Tunney lands a CLEAN shot on Dempsey and staggers him. Tunney than gives Dempsey a beating on the ropes.
Tunney is either lied or forgot. I not even counted fight I.

Firpo hit hard enough to drop anyone,Jack came back didnt he? You might want to have a look at Buddy Baer sending louis through the ropes with a left hook.Moore is an atg puncher ,at LH.Tunney didnt have a long resume at Heavyweight because he retired after the Heeney fight, still in his prime.Tunney beat an ATG at heavyweight Moore did not.

Tunney landed frequently on Jack ,but not on his chin.

I think it's a moot point, though. Bottomline is that Tunney's punches bounced of Dempsey's face more regularly than anyone did against Marciano, and Marciano faced better opposition.

It was a shot on the chin. Tunney DID land on the chin.

    Hi McVey,

Yeah, Firpo was a BIG puncher and in a mythical matchup he
could give Rocky a tough time too.

As for Buddy Baer, he was also a very good puncher and a big
    heavyweight.

And Rex Layne was not a big puncher?? I think Layne is on pair in regards to power, with Firpo and Buddy Baer.

I don't have the 4th round of that fight, so i'll take your word on it.

I don't think Dempsey would've been happy with what someone called "Dempsey1238" said about him though! Guess he liked you better before the crash.

Better opposition than Tunney? I dont think so.Tunney would have stabbed Marciano's head off his footwork would have kept him out of danger,If Rocky caught up with Tunney it would be late in the fight and he would be well behind in the scoring .Walcott was cute but 37 ,Tunney was fast afoot and hit hard enough to get your respect, certainly as hard Charles, Marciano would look like a gargoyle whatever the outcome of this matchup.

I highly disagree with the bolded phrase.

I consider Tunney among the weakest punching of the heavyweight champions.
