I know. Once something is discussed on the internet, it should never, ever, under any circumstances, be discussed again. So what if new people join the forum and may have something to add to that discussion, or don't realize that it may have been discussed before. They should have joined earlier.
Under modern rules Liston wins by early destruction. Dempsey can't get past Liston's steampole jab, gets manhandled on the inside and taken out sometime before the fourth round. Dempsey would have hated fighting with modern gloves I think. EDIT: Can't say he'd have relished fighting Liston under old school rules either...
Liston smashes Dempsey I would say. Dempsey was one tough hombre though so you can never totally write him off but I'm not sure he can handle Listons power nor that monstorous jab of his.
