    Define what you mean by better?

    What does size really have to do with here? If you take a look at Dempsey's record you'll notice the bigger guys didn't last so long.

    The thread is pertaining to how Dempsey would do against Tyson's opponents from 86-91 right? It's only fair that we use the same versions is it not?

    The crucial difference between Smith and Firpo, is that Smith fought to survive against Tyson, while Firpo gambled everything on going after Dempsey early.

    Fortune almost favored the bold.

    My best guess is that Smith would take a safety first approach against Dempsey, and that this would see him last a lot longer than Firpo, but make some sort of Dempsey win almost inevitable.
