Yes you can. If your neck is flexible enough you can take punch much better with head movement. Vlad has normal chin. He has some balance problems though.
Let me tell you something : Wladimir is no Jess Willard. Willard was tougher , yes , but Wlad hits way harder , more accurate , clinches better , faster , more evasive , and exploits his reach extremely better. That's why in almost every encounter between the 2 , Wlad's toughness will not be put to test , while Dempsey's chin will be proven as a mere standard when Wlad cracks it inside 10 , and his technique will be proven to be more lacking than his chin.
He's got a point, though.. describing Wlad as stationary is like saying Tyson danced on his toes and jabbed his way to victory. But don't take my word for it, take that of those who actually fought him: http://www.boxinginsider.com/headlines/what-its-like-to-box-wladimir-klitschko/ From the article: "Klitschko surprised Austin with his athleticism. “He was kind of fast on his feet. His mobile movement from the right to the left was better than I anticipated,” Austin admitted. “Cause when I first went in there, I cut the left off immediately and he darted back the other way. And he did it so swiftly and fast. Like, this is what he do, he didn’t have no problem. When a guy is used to going a certain way – like you got a guy who you push and he’s not used to going backwards, he’s kind of clumsy when you push him back. You go, Uh oh, I kinda found something. But when I cut the left off, he did it like that’s how he was practicing. He just moved with no problems, like this is what I do. I said, Oh okay, this guy isn’t gonna stand still."
Where do I get this stuff? It seems killed your brain cells well if you say that Wlad is stationary. Or slow.
Wlad is definitely slow compared to Dempsey, Tyson, Ali, Tunney etc. He is pretty stationery compared to many of these types as well. Compared to guys like Willard, Carnera, and most of todays big men, then yes he is reasonably fast and not stationery.
Jack Demps gets crushed by either "K" bro....... Demps was great for the first 60 years of the 20th century, but his stock drops bigtime post 1960.... The era of 'Liston' onward gets hazy for Dempsey....... :hat MR.BILL
did willard fight a drunk sick guy? no he fought a trained a boxer and knocked out others too including jack johnson...
Killing some mother****er in the ring doesn't mean you are a wicked puncher.... **** does happen......... Willard killed some dude, who's name slips my mind, but that was simply fate...... Emile Griffith was not known as a wicked puncher either, but he killed Benny Paret...... Raymond Mancini was strong at 135 pounds, but not a real whacker of great power, yet he offed Kim in 1982......... Again, **** happens...... MR.BILL
Yes, destroying Willard the way he did was truly a spectacle but are you really going to group Willard and Wlad together. Willard was very big and very strong but he was just a big target when everything was said and done. Wlad is about the same size but he has an ATG jab, a great right and good feet for a big guy.
Well said, although I do believe he would still fare well against many post-1960 HW contenders...particularly those with no jab.
Come on man?? where did you read that crock of sh1t?? Watch Vlad vs Corrie and then watch Demps vs Jess and then just ask yourself - would Vlad be able to take that kind of sh1t?? I don't think you'll have any trouble coming to a realistic conclusion after that - and also after watching those you tell me whether Vlad's super trained neck helped him any?? Don't even try to tell me Vlad had a better chin than Willard!! atsch
No he doesn't. Dempsey's aggression would allow him to bypass Wlad's jab, and then I imagine Dempsey coming in with a huge left hook, and Wlad wouldn't be able to take it. It's Dempsey speed and power that makes me think that Wlad wouldn't go the distance. He would certainly land, and Dempsey was a monster finisher, so Wlad would certainly go down once Dempsey lands a few hooks.
I wish we could get a prime Dempsey in the ring with a prime Klitschko. I would make a bundle on that fight!
