Ridiculous as it seems, there was a time when Dillon was considered a legitimate contender to the world title big Jess held. Dillon is one of only a few fighters to make into my top 20's at more than one of the original 8 weight divisions, as I rank him there at MW and LHW. Fighting the 10 inches taller 80lbs heavier Willard would have been quite a task, though.
Was Dillon as murderous a puncher as Dempsey was? Always wanted to learn more about him but never knew where to start
His record would suggest not, at least not at HW, but then even Dempsey had 5 inches and 20-25lbs on Dillon.
