The difference between 157 and 162 1/2 is often more clothes and a good meal.

Ok--so Dillon was lighter in 1912. By 1913, and 1914 he put on some weight, and looks to be a solid challenger for the heavyweight crown.

In 1913 and 14, Dillon was not a solid challenger for the heavyweight throne,it was only in April of 14 that he beat Levinsky for a version of the LHVy title ,Dillon was 11lbs inside the LHVY limit for that fight ,and it was billed as a middleweight contest.
As Dillon matured Johnson was in exile,as late as 1915 Dillon came in at 162 for a fight.
He drew with Flynn in 1914,two years earlier Johnson had played with Flynn .Dillon and Johnson would not have been competitive.
Dillon was in decline when Dempsey began his run at the title.

Clueless here except Dillon was by all accounts a terrific fighter in the 08 - 12 years .. never stopped in 240 some odd bouts ... hard to find info on him ... no footage, next to no photos ...

Dillon was feared. I heard a lot about him from the old-timers...
