[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyXOlm13zwI&feature=related[/ame] Great documentary about one of my fav old fighters, he lived an amazing life.
Joe. Jack Doyle had everything going for him such as looks, charm, and a great Irish Tenor voice...But alas he was not a top heavyweight losing to Buddy Baer in the first round by ko...He was married to a beautuiful actress Movita for awhile but alcohol was his undoing...I never saw Doyle fight as I was not around then but read about the "Irish Thrush" of boxing... I love the great Irish tenors of the past as John McCormack, and Frank Patterson who I saw in the USA and shook his hand...Wonderful man who died much too soon..Jack Doyle was not too far behind...Cheers P.S.If you want to hear Jack Doyle sing on youtube, type--- Jack Doyle recordings 1930s...
his story is amazing....he hit poverty twice during his younger man years only to meet another millionaire lady who fell for him he may have died penniless and homeless as an old man but he was a very very lucky man and he threw away all the riches any many could ever want...twice...he was no pity story
