Jack Johnson’s other Havana Cuba fights. I wonder if Adam's 2nd book will shed light on these two fights. Let's keep this discussion clean and factual After losing to Willard it appears Johnson went back to the Island in 1923 to make some extra money. He had two fights. 1 ) Farmer Lodge, 10-8 ( 2-4 in his last 6 fights ) 2 ) Jack Thompson. 20-10-5 ( 2-3 in his last five fights ) Johnson hit Lodge low ( See links below ) http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=2206&dat=19230514&id=JKguAAAAIBAJ&sjid=bdgFAAAAIBAJ&pg=3058,5460551 http://query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=9806E6DB1F30E333A25751C1A9639C946295D6CF And might have “ Agreed to go through the motions “ with Thompson. Go away you welcher. This post is not for you to reply, its for more objective minded posters to look into and comment on.
Welcher, It is clear Johnson went low in SEVERAL fights including one in Cuba. Can you not read?! Good lord, why you wasted your time defending your wife beating idol is beyond me. Keep bumping my threads for others to read and make yourself look foolish. I suppose either option is fine by me, just don't make a habit of running threads purpose.
So you want us to read the same two stories that you read (and linked) and make a judgment on whether a punch was low or not? Seriously? What a maroon.
When a fight report says a a doctor examined the other guy and confirmed the foul, I think that's good enough. But you would have to read the link to find that out. Johnson fouls on filmed fights, and has gone low and been accused of going low a few times.
