    This **** is hilarious.

Sure...he was good at owning some tiny white dudes he could hold onto till they were too tired to stand, but that **** wouldn't play today.

It's like claiming an NBA player from 1951 could be an all-star today.

    Not a chance.

i will say some timeless greats like Ali and Louis could hang today

but id say the pre gloved and first generation of gloved would not hang in todays hwt world

maybe Jack Johnson could make a decent cruiser

but boxing is way different now than it was then, watch his fights its way different the pace the style the tactics

Jack Johnson hit Kerchel so hard his teeth were embedded in his gloves.

He'd lose badly to an ESPN level HW, more likely than not.

He would need a significant time to adjust. however, he'd be too derailed by the magnificent adjustments the world outside of boxing has made and would lose because he was too enamoured by the hot ass girls that would surround him.

The difference is way too big - his talent might be up there, but unless he could take advantage of modern training methods, he couldn't compete physically and technically with the best. Also, he'd be a cruiserweight if he fought today - hmmm, perhaps David Haye is his reincarnation.

Would probably rank outside the top 30 somewhere.

Right, ok. Let's be real here. Jack Johnson was a great heavyweight boxer! While boxing has proressed greatly since the days of Johnson, he would still be very effective in today's game. He was a phyisical beast in his day, but would be less so here. Nonetheless, I believe he would be able to out-muscle most in the divison. His power is very very underrated. At times, he simply couldnt be bothered to finish his oppenent. He would rather hurt them with a vicious inside uppercut and when his opponent slumped down, he would drag them back to their feet and let them recover. But When he wanted to bang, he could bang like the best. The Ketchel fight showed this dramatically.

Basically, for all those who dont no, Ketchel's manager had spoken with jack before the fight and said something along the lines of 'we both know you will murder him in the ring. Just carry him.' Midway through the 12th, Ketchel's manager yelled 'NOW STANLEY' and Ketchel floored the big man hard. It seemed Jack had been double crossed. He stumbled to his feet and, with one punch, laid Ketchel out for the count, knocking out 3 of his teeth in the process.

He was also a master of defence. I rate him as the best defensive HW of all time.

Of today's HW's, he would certainly be in and among the Klits. Haye, Adamek, Arreola, basically anyone smaller, would be dealt with easily. With the bothers, it would be slightly different. While Wlad has a better jab, the better left hook and uppercuts belonged to Johnson no doubt. The old timer also had better defence, and arguably more power when he actually tried to knock his man out.

The Ketchel KO can be seen here
