    Pretty sure this is the Neuhilly, France draw between Johnson(bald) and McVey.7/aug/1910. It matches contempory French photos of the fight. Obviously there is not 4 inches in height between the fighters.

    Well, if McVey's the one with hair, then Jim Johnson is actually slightly shorter. And McVey's usually listed as 5'10, that makes Jim Johnson about 5'9.
    There's about a six inch discrepancy between what Johnson appears to be, and what he's listed as.

    Maybe there were two fighters using "Battling Jim Johnson" as a name. Even the three pictures on the cyberboxingzone site look like they might well be of two different men.

    So Jack Johnson had his hands full with a 5'9" journeyman who was also fat and bald?
