Not directed at me but still---- As a middle aged man Johnson made Luis Firpo look silly in the gym.
Was Baer much more skilled than Firpo? Max was outboxed by Schaaf,Braddock,Loughran.
Were they better boxers than Jack?
Sharkey was outpointed by Levinsky , Loughran,Rojas,Weinert,Risko,Gorman,Weinert.
And could only draw with both Walker and Heeney.
He wasn't a puncher so he has to out box Johnson do you see this as likely?

McCarty beat two previous Johnson opponents in 1912. Kaufmann and Fireman Jim Flynn, by way of knockout.

He also beat Moran and got the better of Jess Willard. Sounds like he’s qualified.

Let's see this offer you are talking about. How much was it, and where is the venue? If you only have a press headline, then I have 10 saying Johnson had offers to fight Langford, Jeannette, and MCvey.

I have a feeling Johnson, who said he was his own manager wasn't interested. We saw Gun Boat Smith beat his title opponents, plus Sam Langford yet he was never given a title shot either.

My guess is you say McCarthy died in May 1913. Okay, but if a title was offered before this time his fate would have been very different.

Johnson had a way of breaking the law and being visible when he did it.

I've never said he wasn't qualified. Tommy Burns was promoting both McCarty and Pelkey in Canada ,Johnson telegraphed Burns offering to defend against McCarty for $30,000 his asking price for a defence.
    Burns, on behalf of McCarty turned down the offer and issued a public statement excusing his non acceptance of it by saying Johnson was of bad character.All easily verifiable in Adam Pollack's 2nd volume of Johnson," The Reign," but you wont buy it,because it would force you to confront certain verified facts such as;

    1. Johnson agreed to defend against Jeannette twice in NY but the authorities pulled the plug both times
2.Johnson agreed to defend against both McVey andLangford in Australia but the promoter withdrew the offer.
I have dates , locations ,purses, and promoters. But you don't want to know about any of that do you?

Now after nearly 4 years of repeated asking ,I'll ask once more.
Produce a verified offer of $30,000, [Johnson's asking price for a defence],that he refused in respect of defences against those I just mentioned? Or are you going to make it 5 years without replying?LOL

Again for context, according none other than Jim Jeffries, when asked to pick a winner of the O'Brien-Johnson affair, stated that O'Brien previously would have had a chance but recent outings "had showed plainly that Jack had gone back." (5/19/09).

Jeffries the day after the fight stated that over 6 rounds O Brien would give anybody trouble.

Its in Pollack's book but with no mention of O Brien having "gone back".I've given a primary source where is yours?

No problems McVey ,always good to see your input. I honestly ,knowing what It's Hit no about JJ ,don't see him losing to any of the fighter s I listed. Only on that timescale ,a ageing Johnson would lose to a young Louis .He d hold the title till then imo

1 ) Maybe I should buy the book. If the author is honest you'll be on the defensive forever.

2 ) Johnson can fight ANYHWHERE in the world. If N.Y. said no, okay try Chicago, San Fran, LA, Reno....stop it, he didn't want these fights.

3 ) It is a fact that Jack Johnson as champion pulled out of a signed contract to fight Sam Langford. For shame! So you see he had no intentions of ever fighting Langford as champion. You are so compromised here its beyond belief.

4 ) I've already produce numerous offers from name promoters with the headlines the press for Johnson to meet for $30,000 $50,000 and $100,000. Some of the prompters question Johnson's integrity. You whatever reason you have left. Johnson did not want these fights. He wanted easier white hope types. There's always an excuse here and your too biased to show the other side of the coin.

5 ) Johnson didn't pick the two best white hopes of the times from 1909-1913. ( Smith and McCarthy ) The best one left in 1915 ( Willard ), he did pick and lost via KO.

You've produced nothing! Buy the book by all means maybe it will shut your lying mouth up for while?
Which promoters offered Johnson $30,000 to defend his title that he refused?
To copy your earlier post "names, amounts , places" LOL
I've just shown you that Johnson offered McCarty a title shot in Canada with Tommy Burns to promote it and Johnson's fee to be $30,000. As usual you just ignore whatever you cannot refute!
