15 rounder, 10-12oz gloves, 3KD's, 8 count in effect. Who takes it, why? Will it just be a boring chess match, with few chances taken, or will either man step up, and try for a mid-late KO?

Johnson can't tie Walcott up and spoil forever. At some point, Walcott is going to hit him with combinations. I think Johnson does well to make it to the final bell here.

The difference is activity and aggression, which both favor Walcott.

    I like Walcott too.

Nice match-up. Not sure if I have thought about this one. Walcott does not have to worry about a huge punch here like did against Louis and Maricano. Both of whom he outboxed in the loses.

Johnson never looked to me to be the aggressive type. He did not look to be passive either but I think if one of these was going to be doing the leading I think it would be Johnson. He is the stronger of the two and would be more confident in exchanges. I think that Joe sticks and moves for the most part.

Walcott is faster, both hand and foot and even thought not as strong, is strong enough to hold his own in clinches. I like Walcott on points but I could really use some more thoughts to go on.

    Excellent thread.

Not to call you out but, this is not one of those threads. "A via KO over B" is a waste of your time, especially if you have something you are basing it on but not interesting in revealing. This prediction is going to be the most provocative one on this thread. My guess is that you had a reason for giving it. I am interested to read it.

On a Tyson thread this might work.

johnson was naturally bigger, bulker, stronger, tougher ,he had more stamina, he had much better defence, he would play with walcott and he would pick the round to stop him... simple like that

Walcott had the better feet, quicker hands and was a better puncher, Johnson day did not see the likes of JJW and Johnson may hit the deck on his way to a UD loss to Walcott

Louis, out of curiosity, did you start this thread because of what Walcott said about meeting Johnson? Because, I bet Walcott would've liked to have fought Jack.

.....the mystery of walcott's age was deepened when a film was found of him boxing johnson in a six rounder. neither fighter threw a punch at the other one.

Walcott was ko'd in a round by a single right uppercut.Johnson's best punch was his right uppercut.
