He was breaking the two long before there was any holding and before there was any inside work being done. Even the rank amateur observers watching the fight in my company noticed this.

He did not lose all the weight at once in the months prior to the fight ... he slowly, in his own manner, began to get in shape over a year or so ... however, he had been inactive from first class competition for over five years ... he did very , very little sparring for the Johnson figt and when he did it was either with his brother or other even older shot guys like Corbett or Choynski ... he was simply no where near ready to fight a highly active champion like Johnson who at 32 was slightly past but still close to his own physical prime ... I haven't had time yet but do look forward to watching the whole clip and seeing how it played out myself ... I have always believed that a prime Jeffries has become perhaps the most under rated fighter on this forum and would be a whole other matter for Johnson in his own prime ...

    .
Fitzsimmons said Johnson could have ended it after the 4th round.
Tex Rickard the referee said Jeffries was never in the fight.
Jeffries won only the 4th rd ,and Johnson stated it was the only round when a Jeffries punch registered with him.

Jeffries had over 18 months to prepare for this fight.Tales of crash diets are bull**** he was down to weight when he came back from Carlsbad.

Fanciful fairy tales of Jeffries holding his own until he tired are equally so much horse manure.
Jeffries won precisely ONE ROUND, THE FOURTH.
Johnson neutralised Jeffries from the very start clamping his arms in a vice like grip and lettimg him push ineffectually against him ,using up his energy reserves. There are many ringside reports of the fight NONE GIVE JEFFRIES ANYTHING. Jeffries finished the fight witha closed right eye that was black as a plum, a broken nose, cuts around his left eye, blood running down his chest and trunks. Johnson had only a split lip which Kid Carter had done in training otherwise he was unmarked and breathing easily . he stated "I was having fun out there,I could have fought all day,Jeffries can't punch ".

You have no film footage of this fight that is not freely available to anyone else, so stop trying to intimate that you have rare footage that shows Jeffries doing well ,you don't.

Jim Jeffries refused to shake Johnson's hand either at the signing for the fight, just prior to round one ,and at the end of the fight .
There are no derogatory references to Jeffries attributed to Johnson either prior or post fight.
There are loads of slighting references from Jeffries about Johnson, calling him several racist names and referring to him as ,"that skunk ,"for several months leading up to the fight. Jeffries deserved a bloody good thrashing ,and by Christ he received one, and a complete and comprehensive one at that.
    Stop with the bull****.
