Mcvey often uses these bait and switch tactics. Agreed, compare them to each other, not Tyson!

Besides, Johnson lost via KO and decision to guys lighter than Rocky. Easy facts.

LOL, old man who can't debunk points or even use information correctly!

Keep up the stupidity, I hope for as long as you can! When I've got you typing CAPS, and not replying to my points, it's checkmate once again.:lol::lol:

The length of them would have sufficed.

I don't believe you can get much from a lot of the old footage.
Do you think Langford looks crude?
If the answer is no,imo you have to ask yourself , how come he only beat McVey 6 times out of 13 lost 2 and was held to a draw 5 times?

Well, if you use the Jefferies fight as Johnson's benchmark (as opposed to just about every fight fought up until 1908, then 208 is the figure to be used. Still not all that much bigger than the likes of Savold or Walcott, though.

If you go strictly by dimensions, Marciano is roughly the same size in terms of chest, though he does appear to be at a significant disadvantage in terms of fist size. Still, the fact that Marciano is arguably just as broad-shouldered as Johnson, maybe more so might stand in him good stead in the trenches-where I think this match eventually winds up.

Why do you persist in comparing Johnson to other fighters ?

We just need to compare him to Marciano, because that is the crux of your argument. We are not even saying,[at least I'm not,] that the size differential would determine the result.
I used Johnson's weight from his title defences and his own observation.I used Marciano's from his defences too so a level playing field .
What I'm saying is that Johnson was significantly the bigger man and it isn't even arguable.

ps Marciano was slope- shouldered and not broad- shouldered.

    Let's compare him to Marciano.

How many punches in their prime, not teenagers ( Sam Mcvey ), or old men ( Jeffries ) weighing 185 pounds or more did Johnson beat?

    ZERO!

I have asked you to list Johnson's best three wins before. Care to show us your thoughts?

Do you know ,at this particular moment I cannot be a*sed to have a conversation with a sub-normal.

Maybe I'll be more tolerant later?

Marciano is not beating prime Johnson. Rocky won't be able to land at distance and in close Johnson controls the action nullifying Rockys offense and decimating him with left and right uppercuts. After 12 rounds Marcianos face is a mess. The fight is stopped after 14 rounds with Johnson the winner in a fight he dominates.

There is such a thing called mid range. And why won't Marciano be able to land at "distance"? He was able to do so against some very good, or perhaps great, fighters?

    Let's get to brass tacks.

Which heavyweight did Johnson beat who was a better heavyweight than Charles or Walcott?

Marciano was a crude looking f*cker to the uninitiated but he knew how to get his offense in gear like no one else.

Referring to Moore as being a LHW seems a bit disingenuous, since he weighed into the high 190's against Nino Valdes only a few months earlier. He could make the Light Heavyweight limit, but by that point tended to fight more often at the higher weight.

Walcott was never a LH, and, for one final time, had similar dimensions in terms of height and reach to Johnson. Weight btx the two wasn't really all that much, either. Marciano doesn't really appear all that much smaller than Jersey Joe in pics that I've seen.

But I guess it depends on which version of Johnson you use. Like Seamus, I think the Burns fight shows Jack at his absolute best. if you view Jefferies as being a better, peak version of Johnson then 208 would be the figure you would use. Either way, I just think any size differential won't be large enough to be the determining factor in this contest. It comes down to styles, I think the swarmer beats the maulter more often than not.
