I know about the myths with Johnson, in every fights during the "White Hopes"-time, there are some fight reports who say that Johnson could have finished the fight from the beginning if he wanted to. Completely bull****, he struggled with mediocre competition, like against Hart, Jim Johnson, Dunning, etc. You make the usual black propaganda like always. I don´t underrate Johnson´s power, but when a good one-punch-artist like Walcott or Moore couldn´t Marciano with great shots, how can he do it?

I'm not even talking about the "white hopes". Johnson hit hard. What makes you think he didn't? Many opponents attested to Johnson's punching power as very formidable. It wasn't on the level of Tyson or Sonny Liston, but in terms of raw power combined with speed and sharpness it was very good. You say he struggled with "mediocre opposition"? When peak Johnson was focused and in shape, he never struggled with anybody, period and the records show this. Furthermore Walcott and Moore's power was inferior to Johnson's. He was bigger and had the ability to deliver it more effectively.:good

He was a clubbing puncher akin to George Foreman or Jim Jeffries.:good

When did Jack Johnson ever pepper some one with a jab?? It clay talking about the same fighter?? Johnson would hold his foe and work from there.

Walcott and Moore hit both harder than Johnson, just look at the record, Moore KO´d fighters like H. Johnson, Olson, Bivins, etc, Walcott KO´d fighters like Charles, H. Johnson, etc. and Johnson KO´d during his title reign people like Fireman Jim Flynn... I know, when Johnson during his prime lost and draw with mediocre opposition, he wasn´t focused and in top shape, brilliant excusses.

Johnson had a good jab, and he succussfully used it to keep many an opponent at bay with it.

1: Opinions of opponents and what they said about their punching power
    2: Footages
3: When I look at the record and who the three beat by the way of KO

Johnson does not keep people back with the jab. He clich and tear em up that way. Jack Johnson was no Ali in foot movement.

But what does that have to do with why you think they hit harder than Johnson? Johnaon and Walcott/Moore have no common opponents, so I'm not following you here.

Some opponents said that Moore and Walcott were the hardest hitters they faced. From Johnson, they only said he´s a good hitter, but nobody said that he was a very hard puncher or so...

It's true. Johnson had a fine jab, and was very quick on his feet.:good
