    I have not heard of this. I do know that Johnson as champion in 1909 pulled out of a singed contract to meet Sam Langford in the UK. That would have been a great match.

    The Sam Langford Johnson beat according to the excellent book by Clay Moyle guesses Sam Langford was just 20 years old and a 156 pounds, so it was hardly a good win when it happened, but looks great 100 years later for those unfamiliar with the facts.

    Johnson would have had an easy nights work for his “career high payday” it would have ended when Johnson wanted it to.
    Bigotry and politics were the reason the fight was banned, hypercritical religious bodies kicked up a storm and didn’t want the spectacle of a black man beating up a white man, and imposed the colour bar.
    It stayed in the UK until 1947.

    I wouldnt judge a fighter only using his record. It's a stupid way of judging a fighter.

    I love mayweather, but he's hurt a lot this sport. Lots of newby idiots thinking that having loses in your record means that you are a bad fighter.
