How do you rate Jack Johnson? I don't want to get into the usual debate on how he would do against modern heavyweights, more how good was he for his time, was he ahead of his time, style wise etc? If you were to rate heavyweight champions strictly on longevity, quality of opposition, natural talent, historical impact and so on. Where would L'il Arthur rank?
I remember The Ring rating him number 3, but I think that was before Lewis and the Klitschkos came along. They rated Ali one, Louis two. Edit: Johnson might have been rated 2!
