On the british broadcast on sky they were moaning about pavlik only throwing the 1-2. Well if ur opponent is open to that over and over again whats the big deal and for the finish that uppercut was brutal!

    yeah i noticed that too!

i wonder if they missed those lovely bodyshots? or the uppercuts?

like most people i dont think they realise how hard that 1-2 is from pavlik. you know a punch is hard when the opponents head snaps back from a jab. not to mention taylor was constantly rubbing his nose after a jab. that indicates he wanted to make sure it was still unbroken.

manny steward even said afterwards he didn't realise how powerful pavlik was.

something else i thought about after the fight was over is that i reckon pavlik could be a lot more faster if he took some power off his punches. in the taylor fight he was content to trade speed for power, but when he throws the jab, or finishes an opponent, he seems to throw combinations exceptionally fast. it's like a deliberate method. probably helps stamina wise to change the pace up and down, rather than stay at one speed the entire time. kinda reminds me a little of kostya tyszu in the deliberate way he slowly but surely finds his mark against speedier fighters.
