Just saw the fight. Almost as interesting as the fight was the fact the commentators must have been pretty close to Jack. You could hear his corner advice and what he said as the round progressed. I don't remember hearing him say "Double the f'ing jab" even once. Something I would expect to hear him tell the quicker guy. No mention of nuts either. Heard him tell Lyell a few things mid round that Lyell pulled off. Could it be the few things we hear for 30 seconds on HBO are misleading? Could it be that he tailors his advice to the fighter? Could it be he is more versatile and knowledgeable than he gets credit for here? :think I think I'm going to need an asbestos suit emoticon pretty quick here....... As for the fight, I only saw one round I could clearly give to Duddy. I had two that I had 'lean' his way so the 97/98 to Lyell was pretty accurate in my opinion.
I'll bet you haven't seen the fight or heard what I'm talking about which just makes you another idiot posting to this board. :deal
I haven't seen the fight but I think that Loew is better than given credit for. He may be limited but he still did bring Pavlik from the amateur levels to the top pro level. However, his coaching in the Hopkins fight was just pathetic, he was completely clueless.
Yes, I did take the time to read that pathetic of a post you called an analysis (Im probably the only one you should be thanking me)and it contradicts what Booradely said how the fight went. Personally I dont give a **** about Lyell, hes irrelevant to the sport but its pretty obvious what your intentions are, to give Loew as much creditibility as possible to make up for the Hopkins fight.
OK. You just proved you can't read. That explains a lot. Jack's main failing in the Bhop fight is that he couldn't talk Kelly out of postponing that fight because of his physical condition. What can you tell a fighter who simply isn't physically capable on a given night? Believe what you want or at least get a copy of the fight I talked about and listen to the cornering or STFU and stop making a fool of yourself talking about things you are in no position to make an informed post on.
Excuses,Excuses...you arent even a boxing fan you are just a fan of a boxer, and Jack Loew's main falling was not having a plan B for his fighter in his time of need, hes been saying the same **** after the 1st round all through the entire fight. And where was your ***gotry ass for 2 months after the Hopkins fight? Face the facts, a sick Hopkins would beat a 100% healthy Pavlik 10 out of 10 times.
Geez. Once again you prove your idiocy. You only have to check and you can see I've been posting all along. So, an epic fail on an easily checkable fact makes all of your other points pretty much mute because you just voice your opinion as fact with nothing to back it up. But thanks for bumping the thread. Again, get the fight I referenced if you care to make valid/relevant comments to this thread.
What the **** does Hopkins have to do with a got damn fight between John Duddy and Billy Lyell?? I haven't seen the fight this thread IS about, so I can't say much yet Herm.
First, that's some dumb **** right there. Yeah, I guess Hermit spends all these hours a day following boxing, downloading fights and ****, just because he isn't even a boxing fan. Jeezus. And for fans that may be just a fan of a particular fighter, so ****in' what! That's like telling somebody living in Pittsburgh, who has their house painted Yellow and Black, Steelers **** all over thier car, thier whole ****in' wardrobe is Steelers ****....that they are not a fan of football because they only like the ****in' Steelers.
Hey Pipe -- Your new avatar is AWESOME. Oh, and by the way -- Lyell did show the marks of a Jack Leow fighter. He threw nice straight punches, double-jabs, a bunch of long left hooks, and followed up nicely with right hands. He trained full time with Jack. He had Jack in his corner on fight night, and he beat a highly ranked, undefeated contender while fighting above his best weight. In other words; Boom Boom can **** off.
Fair post. I don't really agree that he is "limited" per say. In the Hopkins fight, he was like anybody else when one of your best friends are sick, and having to work any ways. With the way boxing is going, gyms closing down etc... I'm damn glad to know that Jack Loew is up in Y-Town tryin' to keep it alive. www.southsideboxingclub.net Check that out and see how much he gives back to the sport, even though all the "experts" seem to think he's a ****in' joke. **** is sickening if you really think about it.
