I think Taylor gets a lot of crap here and certainly is a victim of misfortune but...damn...what possessed you guys?

 

I honestly thought JT was bright enough to fight smart. what the hell was I thinkingatsch

I'm not always right. Hell I was completely off on Bradley/Holt...that said? I know JT. I know that when the pressure gets turned on at a slow boil, he doesn't jump out of the pot. He is not a smart boxer...hell of a nice guy but a very dumb boxer.

Hey just read your post and was wondering, who do you think would have been a better trainer for Pavlik for the nard fight and what do you think he would have told pavlik to do? Not saying you are right or wrong but what can pavlik have done to even win a round?

 

Pavlik could've had Angelo Dundee and Eddie Futch working as co-trainers and it wouldn't have worked out for him. For one we overrated his skill set against Hopkins. Not that HE is overrated...but I think we forgot that the only fighters who beat Hopkins are fast handed slicksters who throw a lot of punches and try to take Hopkins out of his game. I think we forgot the fast handed slickster part.

Lesson learned.

 

Im probably the biggest Duddy nut hugger on esb :deal that fight was NOT a SD lyell won it out right not sure what the other judge was looking at although i wouldnt score as wide as you. but was definately a lyell win no doubt about that.

Have to say i lost alot of respect for Loew after his post fight comments about Duddy.. John has never talked trash about Pav or indeed Lyell. So i dont know why Loew was running his mouth pretty classless thing to do in duddys lowest hour....

 

Yeah, Loew won that fight, Lyell had nothing to do with it at all.

 

Jack Loew made his grave when he told Pavlik in the corner, "Dont worry you're only losing the fight, not your belts". A poor mans Billy Graham, and I'm no Billy Graham fan.

 

Its very sad when a trainer gives up on you in the middle of a fight.

 

Loew is the greatest trainer in the world and a healthy pavlik would give Hopkins a fight, there you happy.
