For all of you that keep ignoring Pav/Abe have a fight lined up so you can accuse Kelly of 'ducking' him.

“Probably next year, after we beat [IBF champion] Arthur Abraham,” Loew said. “I don’t think he has anything left [to face] at 160.”

And this for Loew haters ;):

“I hope he comes out of his shell a little bit,” said Loew, who has never shied away from trash talking. “I’ve got some good ones [lines] for him,” Loew said. “But I can’t let loose when he’s being so nice.”

And if you are looking for a reason to doubt Kelly in this fight we have something for you too:

Loew wasn’t happy about fighting at 170 pounds and felt Pavlik wasn’t as sharp when he fought Jermain Taylor in February at 166 pounds.

“I don’t think his punches had the same snap,” he said.

Still, the plan is for Pavlik to eventually move up to super middleweight (168), due more to the dearth of competition at middleweight than the weight itself.

yea apart from Pavlik and Abraham, middleweight is weak as hell. Also, I hope Loew knows that beating Hopkins today has nothing to do with beating a prime Hopkins. Pavlik is still years away from being the great fighter that Hopkins is.

That is the most telling thing in there. I thought the same.

Yep. That was a pretty hard line to ignore. Since this is a temporary bump up in weight, and more than one division, it is a little worrying. I don't think it will be as much of an issue once he is committed to 168, but only time will tell.

It's only logical this will happen anyway. People who know boxing know he isn't a puncher in the Jackson/McClellan mould that can likely move up and still knock guys unconcious, he's heavy handed.

If he's as good as ya'll think its not a problem, he'll just have to rely on his supposedly underrated skills and work-rate, which should still be there, and maybe win a few more decisions.

Yea, Loew does seem like a real big jackass. It seems like he wants all the attention to himself. All he basically does is talk crap.

Well, you forgot to say: if Calzaghe is willing to fight him after Kelly's devestating loss to Abe. Don't be too quick with your assumptions.

I can't see Hopkins being given the decision over Pavlik personally, but if he fights Abraham he's making a big mistake.

    He wont get to Abraham.
Trust me Hopkins will tap that ass.
What does Pavlik have that Hopkins hasnt seen?? there is not one thing
However Pavlik has never been in the ring with a guy with "colmillo".
Its a phrase in spanish that means something along the lines of experience/trickery.

If Pavlik somehow pulls it off then props and i hope to see him fight Abraham.

I cant wait to see the odds on this one...
