Schicke too reliant on single loaded-up blows, and missing lots of scoring chances accordingly...while getting touched up. Both digging in with meaty body hooks at times.

Really close third. Just enough loudly-thumping body shots (left hooks and looping rights) from the champ to nick it.

What is Arthur Abraham's interest here? (sitting ringside with a look of consternation)

Does he manage or promote one of these guys?

Or is he looking to get next? (can't recall if he did ever officially retire or not? )

edit: or I suppose he could just be supporting a fellow Armenian-German in Arsumanjan.

 

Yep, appears he's part of Arsumanjan's corner (AA). He doesn't seem thrilled with how things are going, but - his boy's actually doing alright.

 

Some downright nasty body rips from both men. I see lots of bloody stool in their futures...

This was definitely an upset. Schicke was undefeated and has been in somewhat tough on the German scene. Arsumanjan had a KO1 loss (albeit later avenged by UD6) to a Czech journeyman.

"The Waterboy" is just really not a great ring name.

 

^ oh wait, n/m, it's actually "Gwada Boy". (as in he's of Guadeloupan descent).

That's funny - so he and Culcay are both originally from sort of the same neck of the woods (the Caribbean and the northern tip of South America, respectively) and now they live in adjacent European countries.
