Jack Sharkey and Max Baer in the 90's

I think Max Baer did have good tools and solid potential to grow into a much better fighter with modern work.
He might turn Moorers lights out, unless he won´t get outboxed. Looses to the rest.

Sharkey got 35% KO/WIN-ratio. He won´t make it at HW in the 90s and fight in a lower weightclass.

 

I think that they could both have considerable success, but that they would need to be lucky with the draw to become champion.

 

They'd both get blasted. The 90s was an era of killers.

 

They wouldn't even get past the middleweights

Both of these are extremely hard to predict due to the fact that both weren't the most consistent fighters. Baer does good in any era imo, when he was serious, he was a H2H monster

 

Bantamweights*

 

Jack Sharkey could fight. He would have been small but he could fight . I could see him beating Moorer and I can see him outboxing and decision the 90's version of Foreman .. I can see hum beating Morrison too .. not Bowe or Lewis ... Holyfield too hard to rate with all the juice .. Baer is hit or miss but I don't see him with any shot against Lewis .. Foreman, sure. Morrison, sure. Moorer, sure .. Bowe very doubtful. Tyson, doubtful ..

In the 90 s??
No offence to the 30 s guys but the 90 s were full of hard hitting, excellent fighter s.
I see Jack getting taken out by Morrison or Mercer.
Max does better, but still finds himself getting knocked around.

 

Roy Jones and Toney?

 

Foreman had a better chin than anybodt Baer fought and a better jab than anybody he beat, he would have destroyed any fighter Baer beat.

 

I’m thinking not very well to be honest. Baer would at least have his power and chin which I suppose would make him a live underdog against them

 

Well let’s look at this.

Old Foreman
Lennox

Sharkey can beat anyone Moorer can beat..and Moorer beat Holyfield and but for one second of the fight, Moorer was handing Old Foreman a good whipping. So let’s give Jack benefit of the doubt there. He beats those two.

Bowe? Hmm. Bowe is not so good of a match, but Jack whupped big George Godfrey and Harry Wills and Bowe also lost to Holyfield one time, and like I say, I recon Sharkey beats anyone Moorer beats which also goes with much of Holyfield too. So let’s say, Bowe on a bad night (and let’s face it, he had bad nights against umpteen guys after that first good win over Evander) is not getting past Jack on a good night. So Sharkey could be 3-0 here. Evander might be too good. Maybe not. Because he lost to Moorer.

which leaves Lewis. Not on earth can Jack beat him. Sharkey (if he had a good night each time) goes 3-2 If he loses his temper 0-5

Max Baer? He might just wallop Lennox. Why not? He took a good shot. And he had a long, blinding right hand that had the most appalling effect on anyone he hit. he suckered so many with that blow. But let’s just say, Lewis is wary of that punch and just handles him like he did Tua or Ruddock or Gollota.

old Foreman would never get into a ring with Max Baer. He just wouldn’t. But if they did I think George had too much heart. He’s not getting knocked out..maybe he can bully Baer enough to make him quit. We won’t know. George wouldn’t sign.

I think Moorer would get blasted. And I think Evander beats Baer much like Holy beat big George.

I think max goes 1-3. Maybe 2-2 out of 5.
