I always said Jerry Quarry was a 1960s/70s version of Jack Sharkey. Both tempestuous and both could fight. I think I would have suggested the Quarry from the first Frazier fight as his prime, but I love your matchup. And the winner would be the fans.
Sharkey, imo, outclasses Jerry over the distance. Both fighters were erratic and both were, on occasion, exceptional. Jack, though, was a champion.
Def Quarry ran into a bad era imo...put him in many points through out boxing history and he’s a champ.
