Beterbiev puts him to sleep in 7. Sharkey too sporadic, too many opening, overcommtted and off balanced.

"Best version of Artur Beterbiev" is IMO the version from the fight with Gvozdyk. Such a Beterbiev defeats Sharkey, and that means he wins by knockout.

Sharkey is actually I lot bigger than I realised looking at that footage, he was a natural mid-190lbs, but that’s similar to Beterbiev, Sharkey might have a slight size advantage though.
With Sharkey’s unorthodox, hands low style with the chin in the air, Beterbiev may set him up for something.

Sharkey is a big man for his weight, he beat heavyweights, George Godfrey, Harry Wills, Max Schmeling, Primo Carnera and a very great light heavyweight in Tommy Loughren. Beterbiev has zero physical advantages here and he will be in the trenches with Jack,,and he ain't coming out.

There is one very considerable advantage he does have which is the fact his punches drain the life out of fighters and he can brutalise very durable fighters with love-taps. He's also got deceptive speed of both hand and foot. I get you don't like Beterbiev but the man really is a freak of nature and an exceptional pugilist.

No it's not that I don't like him, he's just severely overrated off of what he's actually accomplished in the ring . And those punches he's thrown at,,,at best decent light heavyweights won't begin to bother a guy like Jack Sharkey who has with stood real heavyweight power. Beterbiev is not a one punch ko guy he wears his opponents down, in this fight he's the one who gets taken out.

Beterbiev recorded 973 lbs of force generated against Campillo where he did score a one-punch KO when he loaded up. He just doesn't load up on punches because he doesn't need to, he chips guys down and breaks them slowly. That doesn't mean he doesn't have extraordinary power though. Sharkey did go life and death with the much smaller Mickey Smaller and LHWs like Mike McTigue and Tom Heeney gave him fits with their jabs. Beterbiev has a very strong jab and is bigger than all three aforementioned men. He went even-stevens with a washed up Dempsey even if he did lose on a low-blow. Sharkey struggled to keep up consistency because he never had the best mentality imo, he could get discouraged and his gas-tank was pretty so-so. For someone who doesn't dislike Beterbiev, you sure seem to **** on him pretty frequently.

The big hitters of Sharkey's day were the size of today's light heavyweights and cruiserweights

For whatever reason the big men failed to distinguish themselves as punchers

I'll give my stock answer when it comes to Sharkey: It will depend on what phase the moon is in, or if he's personally in a manic or depressive phase as a fighter. You never knew what you were going to get with Sharkey, but the man at his absolute peak had ATG chops.
