Who would've won if they both were at their best?

 

Either Baer would knock out Sharkey late, or Sharkey would win a wide points decision, and then weep hysterically.

I'll take Sharkey provided it's prime versus prime. Sharkey could box, he outpointed Godfrey and would have stopped Wills, had Wills not fouled himself out.
Baer had the power to stop Sharkey of course but Baer wasn't much of a boxer and Sharkey moved well both at the waste and by foot.

 

If Sharkey's at his best then he's got a chance of out pointing him.

 

This fight could have been made, but would either Sharkey dominating a green Baer, or Baer knocking out a shot Sharkey.

 

Sharkey would be winning until he isn’t, Baer is finding that chin at some point across 15 rounds.

I like Sharkey except I can’t figure out how Baer beat Scmelimg who was as good as Sharkey. I ll go Sharkey on points.
