Nobody in the arena besides Jacobs family will be cheering for him. The fact of the matter is that Golovkin is the draw, Golovkin has sold out MSG and numerous stadiums. Golovkin has been on a PPV. Jacobs is a pretty good fighter, but one of the many good fighters that are no namers. He should be happy with a solid 10%. That would be a career payday for him. Golovkin is a worldwide name, Jacobs isn't even known from where he is from.
GGG is not a PPV star Jacob isn't one either, but Jacob is the most decorated fighter GGG has faced through out his entire career. Maybe if GGG took more chances and beat better opposition, this argument would be valid, but he hasn't, so let the pieces fall were they may. At this point in GGG career, other than Canelo, or moving up in weight. This fight is the best one he have, at the weight he's at. A victory would be the best he have thus far.
Golovkin/Canelo is a 50-50 split. Canelo cannot generate half as much money as he would fighting Golovkin. Thus, it's purely a 50/50 fight because no boxer can produce those type of numbers without each other. It's basic economics. However, Golovkin/Jacobs is not a 50-50 split. Why? Golovkin can draw as much money fighting anyone else in the division as he could with Jacobs.
It's not a matter of the split. Canelo wouldn't fight Golovkin under any circumstance. He would lose, his team is delaying the fight for that reason. It would expose Canelo for good, Golovkin would obliterate him and Canelo would lose his fanbase.
maybe canelo wouldnt fight him....maybe he would...but in no way shape or form could golovkin ask for a 50-50 split....even he and his people know that....yet for some reason golovkin apologists have this crazy idea that he does deserve that or that it should be that thats why no one can take you guys seriously
Golovkin is the best fighter on the planet, that's why I can't take Golovkin haters seriously. We haven't seen a fighter like him since Tyson, and yet he is still hated.
Golovkin vs Canelo is not 50/50. Golovkin is the better fighter, but that does not factor in here. The split depends on what weight they're fighting and what they're fighting for. That is why Golovkin won't concede weight, it's a big advantage for him both in the ring and financially. But Canelo is the bigger star and has fought better opposition. Slight favor to Canelo in terms of split, probably 65/35 or 60/40. As far as Jacobs, I don't think he deserves a huge split either, but here's Golovkin's conundrum: he needs a good name on his resume. People are ducking him, he needs to concede just to get a good fight. Otherwise we're stuck with Wade's.
yet he cant get a decent fight made.....and you think your opinion of him being the best on the planet entitles him to 50 percent even though hes had one ppv that didnt do well? even though the other guy is 26 with a much better resume and many ppvs(some of which were wildly succcessful).......you think that means ggg deserves 50 percent? lol...this is why you guys are delusional you make a claim he deserves 50 percent.....based of nothing more than your idea that hes the best......
Jacobs deserves 15% but Monroe Jr got 25% and Lemmy got 43% lol. If the Bum King doesn't want the fight or Canelo pay day, he's welcome to fight another Bum, prospect, midget or has been.
