Actually his team said he was 176 lb.

But I agree with you that it's not really an issue, lots of fighters rehydrate 16 lb or more. And size doesn't win fights without the skill to go with it.

99% of fights have no same day weigh in, if GGG was indeed 170lbs fight night then he wasn't affected by the same day weigh in, he was already fully hydrated???

Problem is GGG was still dehydrated, he still added another 10lbs so Jacobs did indeed have an unfair advantage!!!!!

If his team said he was 170 would you believe them?

Jacobs said he walked to the ring @ 175

I think the question was about weight draining fighters, in which case I would say Canelo gets quite a bit of stick. Brook and Charlo to some extent too, maybe a few others I missed. There are actually quite a lot of fighters who are gigantic in their divisions, unfortunately some people are trying to find reasons to "defend" GGG instead of accepting that he is human.

Well it's not cheating. No different than someone coming in light to be quick.

    Hello, moron.

Do you really think that Jacobs prioritized his size in his previous fights?

Actually I am generally a trusting person, I try to believe them if it is reasonable. Like 158 for Charlo was clearly wrong. But if Jacobs team said 170 I'd assume they rounded down from 173-174, he looked bigger than 170 to my eyes but not hugely so.

Ok I misunderstood him. I mean as long as Jacobs made the weight I don't see no problem with him saying the hell with what the IBF says I'm going to come in comfortable and not bother with the IBF sanctionings and all that good stuff.. But if I'm not mistaken the OP Is one of the ones who wants Chavez to miss weight by coming in heavier than the contracted weight limit so he can be comfortable against Canelo, so I don't understand why he's complaining. I don't understand the GGGOONS thinking sometimes.

Jacobs walked to the ring at 175lbs, thats not particularly heavy, even if it is heavier than he usually weighs it wouldn't be a career high.

Not like he came up to 185+, ffs GGG would have been 175 too, imo more

My understanding is he 2nd weigh in isn't mandatory. Please correct me if I'm wrong?! If I don't want the IBF bElt I don't go. IBF is basically just a notch above IBO.

Agreed, and you're right about the OP. The post you quoted was Reg replying to Sugar who was wondering why Jacobs was getting a lot of stick for being a big MW when there are plenty of other fighters who drain themselves.

Fanboys really don't think straight, "GGG let Jacobs/Brook hit him" "GGG wants to lure Canelo in" or "Jacobs is glass chinned bum" make no sense at all. Even the latter, one doesn't need a great deal of foresight to see that bashing your favourite fighter's future opponents is counterproductive. Similarly the recent thread "GGG was never p4p" from a Canelo fan.

Absolutely! All these threads are comical, I must say.
