Jacobs/Pirog and the middleweight division

Paul Williams beats the **** out of Pavlik

 

In real life Pavlik bitches out and fights a bum

 

How exactly does Pavlik make the middleweight division when he had to dehydrate so much in his fight with Martinez. And now he is on a 'vacaction' (probably getting pissed) it isn't going to get any easier

Basically Pavlik is irrelevant at this point

 

I for one would like to see a giant tournament for this very reason. Almost too many good fighters from 154-68, and turning it into an event would be good for boxing.

 

I think only 2-3 of those listed prospects will make it to the top, but even in a few years time i'm not sure if any could trouble Paul Williams or the cream at the weight.

Granted a few might grab some alphabet belts, I can see Golovkin doing well. But even the likes of Jacobs/Pirog are relatively unproven against the best and are already getting their hands on belt's.

Maybe i'm being a bit hasty in my criticism, but I just don't see a many of those fighters going to P4P level. Obviously we will have a competitive Middleweight division in a few years, but I don't think their are any P4P starlet's coming through. Although I hope I am proven wrong.

 

I dont think Chavez jr, McEwan, Pirog, Macklin will go that far. I´m not too sold on Guerrero yet either. He looks a bit stiff and there to be hit, not to say a ko waiting to happen when takes on more skilled opponents.
But i´d add Erislandy Lara..
I´m looking also fowrard to what Pavlik and Sturm have left though. i dont think theyre done yet.
Many fights looks like to get made quite early, Golovkin vs N´Dam will hopefully happen later this year too:bbb

 

My money's on f'n David Lemieux. I like this kid's style.

A few of those guys I think will stand out more than the rest like Jacobs, Korobov, and Lemiuex. While I think a few won't do too much like Lee, Chavez Jr(but he'll be a money guy in the division), and Macklin. The others will help to make it a deep division. But if guys like Williams, Pavlik, and Martinez hang around and guys like Jacobs, Lemiuex, and Korobov pan out the division alreadly becomes better than it has in years. And I can see a handful of guys from 154 moving up like Kirkland and Angulo. So in a year or two the division could look very good.

 

Have you seen korobov fight lately? He should be flying through the fodder hes fighting at the moment but yet hes struggling and lacks power to even ko that level of opponent.

 

I think of the S6 only Dirrell may potentially be p4p material yet it is considered a hot division. I think ultimately the S6 will make it run pretty cold though because of the publics intolerance of losses.
