    Like many stoppages in modern boxing, it was premature. In the old days, refs let fights go to their natural conclusion, when one fighter hit the deck. Finished. Out cold. DEFINITIVE, as it should be.

    Quillan was still standing, still conscious. Therefore the fight should have been allowed to continue.
