I just don't understand Chavez Jr. fanbase, especially after that con job with Canelo. He never threw a punch the whole fight. Arum probably still chuckles to himself when Haymon bought him off of him. He hasn't recovered a dime of that contract back.
Hey, you never know, Chavez might pull a Perro Angulo. Although as the only guy that last minute picked Angulo.... like I said then, crazier things have happened.
I hope not. Although if you asked me who is more likely to pull of an upset before last weekend I would 100% have picked Chavez over Angulo. Chavez is only 33 years and 7 months old. He has basically been inactive for 2 years save a 1st round KO against a nobody last month. If he can get motivated and let his hands go, ha can still rack up some good meaningful wins.
I wouldn't call it fighting more like stepping in the ring and uses his name to make some quick cash when ever he runs low.
No way does Jr. make SMW, I don't see it happening at all. Jacobs first foray as a LHW or some type of weird under 170 catchweight is what I envision. Then Jacobs drops to the official SMW limit after beating on Jr. for 12. No problem with Jacobs' money grab for this one though, he's run quite the gambit lately
Great point, boxing is a business a the end of the day. Hes got a family to support and plus Chavez Jnr is still a draw
Say what you want about Chavez, but I dont think his chin is in question. I dont see anyone stopping him early.
@velagod and @kirk have talked me round. I'm now happy this non event is happening and give it my full support. Said support doesn't involve me watching.
