So many red flags attached to this fight. People don't wanna hear it but I'm here to educate folks. Don't put your $ into this. A draw could easily come about. 1. In NY 2. They're close friends ffs and sparring partners (Close to 400 rounds of sparring) 3. Same advisors 4. They have the same trainer!! (Rozier) 5. They were extremely hesitant to take this fight 6. Same manager Whoever thinks any of these guys will throw with mean intentions... I have a bridge to sell you.
They are fighting for a title Its Sergey's first and probably last chance for a world title, he's fighting for his life. DJ also knows this is probably his last real shot at the big leagues They will do everything they can to win
They are not close friends. They have completely different (and hostile to each other in fact) promoters, so I doubt they have the same advisors. They do have the same trainer, but Derevyanchenko knew who Rozier would choose in a situation like this. Gary Stark Sr. has been working with Sergey for some time already anyway.
The fact that Sergei chose Stark Jr raises red flags for me . You would think he would have chosen a completely new totally independent trainer.
Good friends have fought in the ring before and beat each other up in there. This is a real fight dammit
It's hard to be good friends with somebody you can't have a conversation with, that's probably overrated. The strangest thing was how quickly Rozier was onboard with this. AT THE VERY LEAST he is losing a nice paycheck. I just hope it's not a fix.
