BJ's just said he's not interested in Jacobs. . Charlo is fighting centeno Andrade is always quacking away how he's the best but always backs out of fights and bitches like a girl. Canelo and ggg are gonna fight in May. Dereveychenko and Jacobs have the same trainer. Murata seems like a long shot.... So that leaves O Sullivan vs Jacobs for April great match. I'm 100% confident that this fight will be made in 2018. It won't be Andy Lee he's not active enough ... Jacobs vs Sullivan best fight for Jacobs ... Good fight I like it Jacobs could probably outbox Sullivan but then again O Sullivan will probably catch Jacobs and knock him the **** out I can see it. Jacobs building momentum using his athletic abliity to conquer then by the 9th round bam!!! Spike catches Jacobs and knocks the "miracle man" the **** out. Good fight. Both men are fighters this will be a war. Jacobs. Wants a harder opponent than his last opponent Arias and Spike has something to prove. Jacobs needs to stop complaining about the loss with ggg and fight competition. And people Arias was no competition spike is levels above Arias. Arias could not hurt Jacobs . But spike can hurt Jacobs and put him in a wheelchair
I really like both fighters a lot and could certainly see either guy winning but would have to give Jacobs about a 75%-80% chance of winning. I just think he is the much more skilled, athletic, and talented fighter. It's tough to make predictions on Spike's fights because his two defining characteristics - chin and will to win, are so difficult to quantify. And Jacobs can flat out crack. I remember when Jacobs and Demetrius Andrade were fighting in the Amateurs and the prevailing consensus on both guys amongst knowledgeable fans was that they would both be world champions. People who never saw Jacobs fight in the AM's probably wouldn't believe how much faster he looked in the AM's compared to now. He's not slow by any stretch, he definitely has above average to good speed, but trust me he can put on a lazer show with his hands if he actually pulled the trigger and switched onto fully automatic. The noticeable speed decrease between then and now isn't because he has slowed down at all, it's just that the sport and his opponents have drastically sped up and the speed of the fights he is in at the championship professional level have had a significant affect on how he fights and how he lets his hands go. He was actually known more for his speed in the AM's than his power. Essentially I'm trying to say the speed decrease isn't physical but mental. He is physically capable of rapidly throwing his hands down range, it's just that mentally he didn't acclimate as well to the pro ranks and has adjusted how he fights accordingly. Anyways, both seem like really good dudes who you want to see win. I'm a big homer, and even though Jacobs isn't from New England he's from right next door in NYC which is still the northeast, so I'll go with him. It wouldn't surprise me one bit though if Spike walked him Jacobs down to a mid-late TKO win.
O'Sullivan is a brawler, but has some power, combinations, good chin. Pirog sure knocked Jacobs out and nobody was giving Pirog any chance to win that fight. I guess Jacobs claims he was cheated in that fight, that he really won, that he was just taking a nap in the ring, not knocked out! Jacobs can fight Charlo next, but Charlo wants to fight another cripple!
I went back and watched half of the O'Sullivan and Eubank fight. All I can say is that Eubank is lucky he dodged Golovkin and that Jacobs TKO's O'Sullivan like he did to the current IBF SMW Champion.
Think the wheelchair comment is a bit tasteless. Re: the fight, there's levels to this shizzle and despite a good win the other night, Jacobs is a level or two above the Spikes of this world. SOS possibly has a punches chance but likely gets stopped middle rounds like he did against Eubank.
I’ve never been impressed with Jacobs and am tired of he promotions centering around his battle with cancer. I’m glad he beat cancer, but I just don’t find that angle compelling as it relates to increasing his marketability. If they want to enhance his profile in the sport, they should take the proven approach and put him in the ring with the best fighters possible. Assuming he wins all or most of those fights, he’ll be well on his way. Realistically, I don’t think it will happen. As for Spike. Jacobs is all wrong for him. He’s a much better boxer than Spike and he has good enough power to score a KO/TKO or send Spike into full on survival mode. Not a good fight at all.
