That Jacobs is the next biggest fight isn't what matters, it's also one of the most risky and Saunders just had to take a big one to keep hold of his belt already. Don't even think Saunders himself thought it would turn out to be one of his easier big wins in his career beforehand. Why would he take another even bigger risk for obviously far less money, when there's so much money at the horizon for him? Saunders never took any risks since he got his lottery ticket WBO strap, and only fought Lemieux because he was his mandatory and was forced by the WBO to fight 2 in a row (first wasn't his original mando, but Khurt got in trouble with the law) after keeping his belt hostage for such a long time. And now he has cleared the bumps, he would take the biggest risk in his career for no reason at all? Very unlikely and actually pretty stupid if he did, unless there's some JayZ type guy that wants to put up millions for it for some reason. Which is even more unlikely.
Worst business move saunders can make right now, The money he would make in the canelo/GGG fight is life changing beyond anything any other fight comes close to offering and from the one sideded shutout display against lemieux the fight against canelo/GGG is almost certain to happen. He would be stupid to take that fight. The jacobs fight is one he should take if he lost to either canelo or GGG, As for my prediction of that fight, 50/50 we still don't know how good BJS is, hes one of these guy's he rises to the level of his opponent when it matters the most.
No way will franky boy risk his golden ticket. Not happening!! Easy/safe opponent in the spring to keep ticking over then a ca$h out in the fall vs the winner of GGG vsCanelo 2.
Saunder-Jacobs is a fight I and a lot of fans would like to see, it makes obvious sense for the division, and as I said beating Jacobs would keep him in the spotlight in North America and make him more appealing for GGG and Canelo, even if not much. But I'm not disagreeing with you, Jacobs is the riskiest opponent out there for him, and if he takes even a close, debatable loss he'd be out of the running for a big money superfight. Definitely best for Saunders to take a spring easy defence before pushing for the GGG-Canelo winner. Jacobs wouldn't be taking quite the risk fighting Saunders because he's already set with a swanky HBO deal.
Me too. I think Jacobs is bad news for anybody at 160, whereas BJS'son is nad news Sorry ... just had to slip that in
