I think that once CES started his diva antics Hearn realised that there was a very good possibility that the fight might not be made. With a lot of $$$ on the line he looked around for a reliable fighter with a resume and balls - enter Brook. Brook had no problem whatsoever in finding his pen for a very lucrative deal. If Junior had a pen, the whole Brook saga could have been avoided. You make it sound as though it was planned months ahead, with all sorts of devious calculations about using Eubank as a smokescreen and forecasting in advance the national pen shortage ... nah, man.
Everytime I see "little g" or "bumlovkin" I instantly imagine an adult with a brain of an infant and deep insecurities.
thats not the picture that was painted...the picture was that eubank wouldnt sign a deal and they had to "scramble" for an opponent and hearn offered brook and loeffler said ok....logically loeffler would have started to look elsewhere after a certain amount of time without a signature from eubank.... ggg fans have literally said "ggg had no other options".....of course they had other options...if u cant get a deal done with eubank by a certain date you move on...but they didnt move on....they talked as if they were backed into a corner this is from april 4th 2016 over on the scene "We then switched to the topic of Gennady Golovkin. One of the most avoided fighters in the sport would love to setup a fight with Canelo Alvarez in September, but many people do nothing think the fight will happen this year. I asked Tom if no Canelo fight when will we see GGG back in the ring and who would be his opponent? Loeffler said that determining when Golovkin will comeback will all depend on how he comes out of this fight. Regarding an opponent, Tom said: “Billy Joe Saunders has said he’s willing to fight Gennady, so that would be the 1st choice if the Canelo fight doesn’t happen. We’re going to pursue everything to make the Canelo fight happen to get the WBC title and then, once that situation is solved, go after Saunders to see if there is a way to make that fight happen. Gilberto Ramirez, if he beats Abraham, Bob has said he would fight Gennady, so that would be a great matchup. Danny Jacobs has a nice win over Quillin so that would be a great matchup. I think there are so good options out there for Gennady, but obviously Canelo is the #1 option.” I asked him about the rumors of fighting Kell Brook. Loeffler said, “Eddie contacted me about that fight and clearly Kell is a great fighter. We have a lot of respect for him. If there is a way to figure out the weight difference, then I think that’s would be something to look at, but there haven’t been any serious discussions about a Kell Brook fight. I could see a James DeGale fight being done easier than a Kell Brook fight, but you never know, I wouldn’t rule any of those out. The bottom line is whoever, is willing to get in the ring with Gennady, they become the #1 choice because that becomes the most realistic fight." this suggests they had discussed this fight before......and they think it would be easier to get degale but hearn never even offers degale when the eubank fight "breaks down".... they never had to figure out any "weight difference" either...they just needed a way to sell the fight as legit ....which was "we wanted to fight this guy but this guy didnt want to fight and we had no options and hearn offered us brook" i ask again...how many times do you see a career WW with a name....take on a career MW with a name...at MW....by accident?

No different than blind allegiance to Canelo because of the Floyd connection. Both versions of the same sickness and both just as stupid. It's right up there with spraying 1,000,000 posts a week on here trolling another grown man because he is being a nut hugger of the "wrong" fighter As a group we gotta let this s--t go. Spence-Brook is a good fight, who gives a rip how it connects back to the GGG-Canelo/Pac-Floyd world wars
i dont think anyone defends canelo because they love him or whatever...i think alot of people stick up for him because they arent happy with golovkin or his fans.....golovkin fans come off like pac fans did to floyd fans.....i think canelo gets stuck up for because of this...i dont think anyone really loves canelo that much i stick up for canelo...but hes really just "eh" to me...dont love him...dont hate him either
I think all the fans realize that we tried to make so many great fights for Gennady in the middleweight division," said Tom Loeffler, managing director for K2 Promotions. "We can't make those fights and this is clearly the biggest name fight we could make. We tried to make the Canelo fight, then to unify with Billy Joe Saunders and then we were in discussions with Eubank. The fans realize this is the best fight out there and Eddie says this is a bigger event than Eubank because Brook is an undefeated world champion." eddie says" this is bigger event than eubank"...hmmmmmmmm
"Golovkin fans come off like Pac fans did to Floyd fans" Exactly what I mean. The bitter is strong, the connection will never die
But ignore buttons do. And I already had you on ignore. Does mine reset every time you get banned or something??
I know that Brook wanted to fight GGG before then, and Golovkin had already dismissed the fight saying he was too small. So GGG didn't want the fight. However, when faced with losing a 5M payday thanks to CES, he went for it. I would have done the same damn thing, christ, GGG is old, you can see the wrinkles spread across his face as he talks in interviews. His sell by date is coming fast and he needs to fight as often as possible. I'd still like to see CEJ/GGG, btw. But the Brook fight turned out OK in the end. I was surprised and impressed by Brook, and it shows you what a bit of balls can do for a man.
loeffler said he was open if they could figure out the weight....ggg, sanchez and loeffler say things that contradict each other all the time...is ggg supposed to say he wants to fight a WW? how would that make him look...loeffler said right there in the quote he was open to it..... my original point is...once eubank hadnt signed at a certain date....he should have moved on a to MW or SMW.....but he didnt...he dragged up a WW....a WW everyone said wouldnt go back...but hes going back.... if ur worried about gggs "sell date" he should have jumped at a 155 fight with canelo....he should have at least said he was willing to do it instead of shooting it down.....instead he gave canelo an easy way to put it off as long as possible
