My opinion of this matchup has not really changed. I believe that Golovkin will win. However, I do not see a good reason to discount Jacobs completely. He has good weaponry. It can cause problems for any fighter he faces. I suspect that Jacobs will look for a fire fight- it is, IMO, his only real chance. I suspect that Golovkin will take it fairly slow and easy. If Golovkin is allowed to be methodical, he will win around the 9th round and it will look like his other fights.

This is absolutely incorrect, the only way one could possibly conclude that is if we have a total ****ing moron who doesn't have a clue what he's watching

I don't believe you fit that description to a tee so I don't believe you truly believe that yourself. 100% wishful praying on your part

Jacobs might hit the canvas inside 3, but that's only if he thinks he's sees an opening he believes he can exploit to get a Quillin-esque T/KO.

Obviously GGG's iron jaw won't be so easily exploited as Quillins certifiable glass was, so Jacobs might think he sees what;s not really there and get himself into harms way. But.....he won't make the mistake of not showing the ref his intention to continue again, as in Pirog, and he should be smart enough by now to stay on a KNEE til 8 to ensure maximum clarity.

I've said elsewhere, Jacobs best bet is to jab and grab the entire fight, occasionally mixing in the counter UC if GGG gets a little loose defensively.

Better to be DQd or survive ugly that to be put to sleep ala Stevens.....at least for Jacobs who still has big fights ahead.

    I say GGG by DQ5-9 or T/KO 6-7.
Wont rule out a TD either as Jacobs might see a headclash cut as an easy out.

As it gets closer to the fight, I think GGG may do the job in the 7-9th round because GGG will be very tentative in respect of Jacobs' power.
Jacobs could possibly actually look pretty impressive at times.

Chin and heart are two very different things.

Obviously Jacobs has more heart than most. If Pirog could KO Jacobs, the amount of heart he has means very little.

I wasn't the only one that saw that. ggg was pushing a pace that was a bit too fast for him gunning for a KO. Lol @ getting upset because he isn't a god.

I guess it's inevitable that the pot must be stirred. Good luck to Jacobs though.

    Nope, not at all.

He takes a LOT more shots nowadays than when he was a fresh faced cherub fighting out of Germany. If you check out his early fights he was defensively responsible, using a combination of parrying, slipping and distance control to defend well. Sanchez has deliberately switched his style up to be more exciting. Hence he takes more punches nowadays.

TBH I quite liked his earlier style, it was more 'clever'. But I can't deny he is more exciting now.

I lost a month here on Kovalev / Ward.

Agree with you. The three clowns judging fights often forget their prescription glasses at home.

Defensively responsible, I like that l. I even think his D was almost impenetrable and yes I agree he takes a couple more shots but not many as he still has that chin tucked and is still the most sound in the sport.

So let's see if I understand...
    1. All of GGG's wins were because his opponents were afraid.
    2. Jacobs is not capable of fear.
    3. GGG was exposed by Brook and is not a good fighter.
    3. Therefore Jacobs will beat Golovkin.

    Seems pretty straightforward.

Naysayer has promised he would drop the "Bumlovkin" moniker for Golovkin and henceforth only call him "Tripleduck" in case he wins against Jacobs
