Conway vs Udofia is a very good fight in my opinion. Price vs Coghill is also decent. Both of those fights are eliminators for the British Title. Matchroom could easily do a small-hall show at York Hall with those two fights if they wanted to. I know a lot of people don't like female fights, but Harper vs Braekhus is intriguing as Braekhus is much naturally bigger and has only ever lost to McCaskill. Then you have Nico Leivars and Junaid Bostan against domestic opponents with a lot more experience than them. There are no "gimmick" fights against journeymen. I think it's one of the better UK undercards this year.

Apparently the winner of Wood vs Warrington could fight Cordina next.

Surprised Braekhus isn’t headlining a Next Gen card she’s only 42

I'll almost certainly watch it, but is it just me that couldn't care less about the fight? Domestic tear-up for a world title, fine; but it's also a cash-out fight between two respectful guys leaning on their football teams to make it a bit more interesting.

Compare to the likes of Frampton-Quigg or Warrington-Selby, which felt like they had a bit of needle and fighters on the rise, it's a non-event. No doubt it'll draw a good audience though. Sorry to be down on it but it kind of reflects my view on boxing generally just now.

3 mandatories in a row pulled out on Opetaia and we are left with Opetaia-Thompson.

Opetaia to win but I have a feeling it might go the distance.

Poor undercard but looking forward to seeing a Brit get a world title opportunity against the number 1 cruiserweight in the world who holds the Ring Magazine Title.

Jordan Thompson doesn't deserve a world title shot though to be brutally honest. His best win is Vasil Ducar who Cheavon Clarke is fighting tomorrow, and Ducar managed to knock Thompson down towards the end of the fight.

Poor undercard but will tune in for the main event and chief support. Ellie Scotney won't be chief support as Shane McGuigan has to get himself over to York Hall for Caroline Dubois.

Wembley arena expected to be approx 75-80% empty!

Do they even store enough curtains to cover off this many seats!

It was only announced a month ago to be fair and features no big names or ticket sellers apart from Jimmy Sains. Jordan Thompson is also from Manchester. It would have been great if the fights on the Boxxer card were on the undercard of this. They couldn't even sell out York Hall which is a surprise.

Wonder if a trainer has ever trained 2 fighters on the same night in different venues before.

In regards to the DAZN main event, in all honesty I can’t ever recall watching Jordan Thompson fight. I’ve probably seen him somewhere but it doesn’t stand out.

Shane McGuigan's second time. He did it before with Ellie Scotney and Adam Azim. Thompson isn't world level in my opinion. I reckon Cheavon Clarke would beat him. Vasil Ducar almost stopped Thompson last time out. His win over Luke Watkins was decent but Watkins isn't even British level these days.
Wouldn't call Opetaia a weak champion. He beat Briedis who was the Ring Magazine champion and number 1 ranked cruiserweight after breaking his jaw in multiple places early on in the fight. Opetaia is the best in the division.

There's a reason why Riakporhe pulled out of the purse bids, one of which being is that Opetaia is very good. He is much better than BIllam-Smith, Jack, and Goulamirian.

Thompson looks like he towers over Opetaia - hope he can take a body punch as he's going to be seeing a few.

If promoters weren't as tied to dates for their TV deals, and their egos, a few cards this year could easily have been combined; this show and Boxxer's better fights combined at a better venue, and then stick the lesser ones in a proper small hall show with a bit of atmosphere.

Sadly that's not how business works but if boxing was a sport...
