If any one knockout can be described as devestating or brutal, it is when Allen Green put Jaidon down for the count. This might happen again, but not against Bika. Bika is raw and lacks the kind of devestating power that Allen Green is capable of bringing. Bika even looks amateurish at times. He throws a lot of looping punches and is always open for a counter left hook because he drops his hands so damn low to throw the uppercut which is often thrown from the outside. Other than Codrington's suspect chin, he's the complete package. He has good speed, great technique, good movement, and GREAT power. As tough as Bika is, I wouldn't be suprised if he gets knocked out by a left hook as he attempts to throw an uppercut from long range. Jaidon will probably get inside with a right straight to the body which he'll do by crouching slightly, which will tempt Bika to throw the uppercut, but before he get's one off, that left hook will send him to the canvass.
Mate, no one will KO Bika! No one! Not Froch, not anyone! And certainly not Codrington! In fact, don't be surprised if Bika T/KO's him instead! Bika has faced much better opposition than Codrington will ever be, and made the suffer! Unless they rob him badly, there is no way Bika can lose the Contender!:verysad
Bika is getting up there in boxing years, he doesn't have devestating power, lacks technique, and leaves himself open to be countered. All he has going for him is that he's tough. Codrington hits much harder than Bute and Calzaghe and has better technique than anyone Bika will face on the contendor. Besides, Jaidon has a lot to prove after his KO loss to Allen Green, and I think this will be coming out party for him. Don't sleep on him. He may be the future of the supermiddleweight division. He has all the goods except for his chin, and Bika ain't the guy that's gonna test it.
This year is Bika's best! He has fought the best and made great fights! He is SO experienced! If Codrington decides to take Bika out, Bika will swing back and Codrington will not get up again! Why would he worry about Codrington's technique when he has faced the likes of Joe and Lucian, and caused them big problems? Sure, Bika is not getting younger, so he will not get much better either...but Bika is fit and strong as hell! He will not have any trouble with Codrington! I cannot believe you're hyping this guy so much! You cannot be the future at SMW unless you have a very good chin!:deal
I will root for Codrington, but I feel it will be a great fight. I can't wait to see last night's Soliman/Bika fight in full speed unedited. IMO, I would pay to see those two go for 10 rounds atleast and 12 would be awesome. Just two crazy styles.
How am I hyping him up by saying he'll beat the limited Bika? Let's think about this for a second. If Bika is as good as you make him out to be would he be fighting on a reality TV show? Manfredo anyone?
Manfredo we've only heard of because he won the Contender. Bika only went on the Contender to bring himself to the attention of non-hardcore fans who think that if you are on the Contender, you are one of the best. Codrington is made by the Contender, just like Manfredo was...not Bika...he just needs the marketability that exposure will bring, but he isn't all hype. Why is Condrington on the Contender? Because he is the next Manfredo, pretty much!
He isn't better than the Top 7-8 SMWs, no! You are right there...but he is better then Codrington and many others...
Bika gave Joe Calzaghe fits when they fought. And Joe is no doubt the best smw in the world, so yeah. Bika is strong as an ox and has a cast iron chin. Yes, he is slopy but so was Rocky Marciano, Rocky Gratziano, Dennis Andries etc, and they were all world champs. Cordington is younger and has more upside, but he definetely has a lot he needs to work on. I personally think that he gets hit with some silly shots and he better not take a big fight against a murderous punching guy right after the contender. We all saw what happened against Allen Green. His people need to manage him carefully.
The scores on the scorecards didn't tell the whole story... watch the fight and make up your own mind!
The rounds were close but clearly in favor of Calzaghe. so it was close in that Bika almost won a lot of rounds. Scorecards make it seem like a blowout.
