Munguia has too much fire power for Ryder at this point of his career. It should be a fun fight, but I feel Munguia will stop him with a body shot.

Munguia was getting rocked by every other shot that Derevyanchenko landed on him, and this was a shot to hell shell of Derevyanchenko making his debut at 168 who couldn't crack an egg at 160. Ryder hits far harder at 168 than Sergiy and is very established at the weight. The Gorilla is going to aggressively walk him down and violently KO him. This is going to be a massacre.

I have $100 on Ryder at $3.45 I am not overly confident but those odds were too good to pass up.
Ryder from a couple years ago I would’ve backed confidently.

You don't have a great track record betting against me.

I dont understand how Munguia is silver champ and Benavidez is not

Munguia beating Derevyanchnko and Ryder to me is good enough to earn a title fight but when factoring the body of work there is no way in hell he deserves a crack before Benavidez

I find it interesting how Munguia has not held a world title in several years now or even competed for one when you consider how highly organizations have ranked him and how easy it is to fight for a title in the 4 belt era.

That said I do think he fairly won the Derevyanchenko fight, my score is not handy but I had him down 105-104 going into the 12th and the 10-8 round swung him the win. He fought bravely, sucked it up and went for it when he needed it. He looked extremely flawed and easy to hit and even his gas tank was a problem in that fight. However, he continues to improve even if in small wrinkles. I feel like he has learned to jab and box on the outside better under Erik Morlaes's guidance. I dont know if he will ever be athletic and coordinated enough to truly be a boxer but it helps him defensively and uses some of his height and reach and keeps him out of exchanges. He also still has fight changing power

Ryder to me has always been a very tough but very limited guy. Very good in one gear but only has one gear. He is tough as nails and fought bravely against Canelo and did good despite not really winning rounds. Munguia is not on Canelo's level but he may have a heavier punch and certainly a higher work rate. I think this fight is going to be a war. I am not a Munguia fan and often pick against him and felt he lost to Hogan big time. However, he keeps winning and moving along and is young

I am actually going to pick Munguia to outlast Ryder and win a controversial decision (not because I think the only way he can win is a robbery not a cynical but more of a this fight will be very close and people who dont like Munguia are going to reflexively complain)

I for some reason like him too, could be the Duran avatar? I'm thinking Ryder is on the backside of the mountain and Mungia will be able to win a close one. But am I confident? NO,,,

Hmm? those are good odds, All in All I'd say that's a fine wager . Trouble is if this goes the distance I'd hate to bank on the judges giving it to Ryder. Good luck!
