Slated tentatively for September 14th as the co-feature to Álvarez vs. Golovkin III, provided all the following hold true:

    1. Munguía doesn't vacate his WBO super welterweight title in a jump to middleweight to make good on his public answer to Demetrius Andrade's call-out (https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...drade-vs-jaime-aaron-munguía-escobedo.623493/)
    2. Munguía retains the belt in his planned April 13th voluntary defense against Patrick Teixera.
    3. Canelo Álvarez does indeed, as expected, compete on Mexican Independence Day weekend (as the star has made a point of doing every every year since 2009, with the exception of 2014-15), be it a trilogy capper with GGG or unifying with the hypothetical Andrade vs. Saunders winner should they meet.
    4. Hogan doesn't lose until then himself, and holds onto his mandatory position.

WBO light middleweight title at stake, 5th (assuming the April voluntary goes ahead) defense of Munguía. On paper Hogan is made to order for the Mexican to destroy: he's a basic, obliging, come-forward type with average or worse speed, power, and reflexes and nothing slick or fancy about him. That said, the Irish-Aussie has the same toughness of character and nearly identical physical dimensions to recent challenger Takeshi Inoue, who pushed Munguía hard...but with a higher workrate than his Japanese predecessor.

If Inoue actually had power he would have won that fight. His punches did absolutely nothing to Munguia. I had it pretty close up until the end but once Inoue tired out Munguia clearly took the fight One thing I am impressed by Munguia is his stamina, that kid has stamina for days. This Dennis guy seems to not have much power either, so I'll favor Munguia. What's with these awful mandatories though? Seriously I've never heard of Inoue before this fight and I'm Japanese, and I doubt Irish people know who the hell Dennis Hogan is. This is worse than Brook's mandatory run. I feel like Oscar is paying these sanctioning bodies off because he knows every solid 154 would beat him.

What hype? Doesn't everyone know he's extremely limited? He is a physical monster though. Good speed, power, and great stamina. His boxing IQ is low though, and his defense is ****.

If you're from literally anywhere in the world and have never even heard of Dennis Hogan, it means you don't follow boxing too closely. He is a former world title challenger (WBA interim, losing to Jack Culcay in 2015...but you've probably never heard of Culcay either at that level of casual fandom ;)) and has been consistently ranked in the WBO's super welter top 5 or at least ten for several years.

I know who Culcay is. That's literally the only relevant guy Hogan fought ever. That logic is extremely flawed. Being ranked in the a sanctioning bodies top 10 doesn't mean anything. But I can agree that I don't follow it "too closely", to the extent where I know boxers who have fought literally no ones and their best opponent is Culcay.

Munguiarito was a little bit exposed in his last fight.
If only Inoue had a little bit more power,we'd might have witnessed kirkland vs ishida 2.0.

How bizarre, over 28,000 posts here and not even a 'true' fight fan, you must be getting paid by Soros to hang out in this joint for so long. Seriously you've been here this long but have never heard of Hogan? I know he's not a 'big' name but ffs!

Not a true fight fan? Because you don't know every boxer ranked in a sanctioning body you're not a "true" fight fan? Also the posts got doubled when the website was updated, not sure if you would know unless you're an alt, since you weren't around during the update.

Btw I'm sure there are plenty of people who never heard of world champs in the flyweight division and below who are real boxing fans. I don't criticize them or try and act pretentious because they don't know them. I happen to know them since I'm Japanese and I used to live in Japan, and there are a lot of Japanese fighters in that weight. Not everyone follows every detail of boxing. Not everyone has the time to dedicate their life to knowing every minute detail.

Fine but then don't argue with people who know more than you do.
