You would think Morales would help Jaime with his defense, since El Terrible was known for his sublime footwork and tight defense. Ironic that Jaime got knocked out cold after training with him. Maybe Jaime should stick to his bread and butter and not try to be someone he's not.

Hard to teach a dog new tricks. It seems Munguia will always be defensively flawed no matter who trains him. I'm sure Morales is a decent trainer but most of the time ATG fighters don't end up becoming ATG trainers.

After Munguia's loses to Canelo he calls Maestrito Lopez to have him train him.

Lopez stated 2 months ago that his focus was to get Munguia ready for Erik Bazinyan, and one of the main things they were working on were "keeping the left hand up" to avoid getting hit continuously with the right hand, amongst other things like conditioning.

For some reason Munguia then adds Morales back to his team and Morales starts to take over and eventually kicks Maestrito out.

Two months ago Maestrito stated that Morales went into camp and started going against everything Lopez had taught Munguia, and that he went back to training him exactly the same way Pre-Roach.

And what were the results? Munguia getting KO by a guy with a 15% KO ratio with a right hand.

Had no idea that Morales was the kind of person to be a control freak. I'm not sure why Morales hasn't tried and improving Munguia's style. Can't imagine how Maestrito must feel about Munguia and Morales but I think he must be vindicated seeing how the results went.

I guess you can say Morales is living up to the name "El Terrible". And from the looks of it Munguia might still stick around with him.

It's interesting that Morales, Barrera, and Marquez have these crazy big egos.

Morales does the best at coming across as a down to earth guy, which I'm sure he can, but from time to time you can see his big ego on his podcast with Barrera "Un round mas".

Not surprising. It's rare for most ATG fighters to not have big egos, especially with the kinds of accolades these guys have.

Interesting to hear that Morales does podcast with Barrera. I know they hated each other for awhile but didn't know they squashed their beef and doing podcast together. Always nice to see former rivals working together.

Yeah, they've been doing it for about three years. They interview boxers, trainers, former boxers and trainers, aficionados. They have also interviewed some English speaking boxers like Mosley in the past.

Most Mexican legends have gone through their podcasts.

That's great to see. I wish I could fully understand Spanish so I could give it a listen. Sounds like it's a great boxing podcast show, much like Paulie Malignaggi's and Shawn Porter's podcast.

I wonder if they plan on bringing in Manny Pacquiao on to their podcast now that he's been recently inducted into the IBHOF. That would be interesting to see.

I love that the idea is to "right the wrong" but opens up a nonzero chance that we get Bruno Surace with only six kayos in 29 pro bouts and Munguía himself accounting for two in a row of them. :sisi1

Think it's gotta be retirement at that point, no?

Funnily enough, this guy actually knocked out his previous opponent as well and he had never been stopped prior to that. Maybe he’s learning how to throw his punches with better authority?

Look at David Avanesyan, people used to call him feather fisted and claimed he couldn’t crack an egg. He’s clearly turned over a new leaf in his career and he’s won his last seven fights by knockout.
