Would be a good win for Golovkin TBH. His handlers can say he took on a younger, bigger, aggressive guy. And it would quite simply be a fairly easy win, a guy who'll come right to him and he can land at will against.
Not only you see his punches coming, his punch variety suffers too. You don’t see too many body shots and those awkward diagonal punches from above to the forehead and side of the head anymore. He has slowed down a lot and I think Abel is about as much to blame as his age.
https://i.makeagif.com/media/9-06-2018/CidGQL.gif Look how slow he is there ^ Compare to down bellow where he clearly displays Ali like speed. https://i.makeagif.com/media/5-10-2015/0CbdpH.gif There's no way Canelo would have seen that coming.. . lol lol
Good post, my mate actually thought those diagonal punches were illegal as he had never seen them thrown before He battered Murray with them and there was no defence from them it seemed with others..I think Abel eyes the money as much as anything, seems a bit slippery..Like you say, the speeds gone and its had a big impact on his style, power wise, punch selection, he jabs far more now, zero body shots etc. GGG was all about constant educated heavy handed pressure, that's gone and imo to be expected at his age, BUT, hes arguably still the best at 160 still, I think BJS out points him on movement now. 4/5 yr ago forget it
CST80 don't believe that will be the guy to do it agree with you on that! But, GGG is long in the tooth, 345 plus amateur bouts and over 30 pro bouts, If he has anything left its not near what it used to be.... It's a real shame how he was ducked for so long in his prime you and I both, if Canelo had fought a prime GGG it would have been a slaughter!! Instead the fighters waited him out avoided him for years and years.. Waited till he started to look like an old man in ring years then they all got a heart and brave calling him out... Boxing really screwed GGG,, even with that he still won the first Canelo fight and should have broke that record for the most middleweight title defenses.. Now he will still go down as tied for the record.. Just sad, to never see how truly great he was!!!
The speeds gone?? The speed was never there in the first place. Its like saying Froch got slower late in his career. Neither guy was ever fast. GGG was no less prime than Froch was when he beat Groves twice. Froch was actually 2 year older at 37. Because Froch had reasonable fans , nobody blew his own trumpet by saying he was shot and still won, look how great he is.. There was no clown show with Froch like there is with Golovkin. You can lie that GGGs attributes are all gone but the footage has and will prove you wrong. He reigned down punches from all angles on Vanes and will do the same to Brian Adams. He chose to only throw jab against Canelo , he had no heavy handed aggression because Canelo took it away , he looked slow because Canelo was too quick for him and always would be. In other words , Canelo made him look shot to bits. Against non eliters he'll go back to looking like he always does. Suck it fanboy.
The Froch example of his wins over Groves speaks volumes about how being in your mid or late 30s doesn't have to just automatically slow you down. It's got a lot to do with who you are in there with. And with GGG I think a lot of it was psychological as well. Lets face it, GGG was not used to going 12 rounds throughout his career. He was a knockout him artist. So when first Jacobs then Canelo took him into deep waters it was a very new experience for him. With Canelo the body shots really took their tool on him though. You could see his face start to change round by round, you could see by the middle rounds in both fights he was gasping for air and his face was all red. G never took that kind of punishment before. G sucked it up and lasted the distancem though and fought well enough in both fights to keep it close. And of course age played a factor in that. A younger G may not have tired as fast from those body shots, but after all the smack talk G fans talked about how he's gonna stop Canelo or how Canelo wasn't aggressive enough in the first fight, you can't then turn around and start using age as an excuse when that was the fight so many G fans wanted and predicted Canelo would be in trouble if it happened. But I mean you look at how strong and healthy G looked vs Vanes, which was in between the Canelo fights, then you look at how he was in such tatters by the 2nd half of the rematch, it's obvious that it was Canelo who had a lot to do with that happening, more than age or any other excuse!
Why would anyone want to see this fight in 2019 Sure the kid is fun to watch as he is 100% offensive but ZERO defensive style. GGG, Canelo even Curtis Stevens would all KILL him. Let the kid learn some basic defense, tuck his chin, work on his height and reach advantage then slowly feed him some C level guys and go from that point. GGG would most likely show a tad of compassion but Big Red and Oscar would serve him up for a highlight KO
Shadow and El Chicano are alias , LMAO. Shadow replying to a thread that was clearly addressed to the thread starter by @f1ght3rz @f1ght3rz asked the OP ( el chicano) to spell the name correctly. He is now logged n as Shadow and replies with an appologies and says he has corrected it. LMAO!!!!!!! Another fraud on the board that stoop so low as to make multiple account to circle jerk himself on thread he makes.
