I think they should do the weigh in before the ring walk and then you would eliminate this issue completely.

Maybe the ***** will pass out walking to the ring. What BS. Classic weight bully.

Move the weigins to the morning of the fight. End this crap.

Canelo might win since he has a clause in all of his recent contracts not to be tested for the juice ever since he pissed hot twice when he fought GGG. If Canelo is on the juice then maybe he wins but then maybe not. If Canelo is tested before the fight and is clean Munguia will hand him a KO.

The reason they don't do the weigh-ins the same day of the fight anymore is to prevent people from dying in the ring. When you are able to rehydrate you are also rehydrating the brain. When the body is dehydrated so is the brain which when hit in the head can cause a
blood clot and then a lot of bad things can follow besides the fighter dying.
It is really interesting to me why all of hate a top contender like Munguia. Only 25 years old 39W -30KO- 0L

I've seen some improvements in JM. Not saying he's elite but he is at least improving.

Boxing isn't a dance contest its a fight and Munguia brings it every time and delivers every time and he hasn't even reached his prime yet.

I know the reasoning. But it hasn't proved to have helped.

I followed the sport when they made the change. But people weren't dehydrated like this when they weighed in the day of the fight.

People actually showed up weighing between 148 and a 154 pounds for a 154-pound title fight.

When was the last time someone weighed in at 149 for a 154-pound title fight? Instead you get the heaviest guys they can who can dry out and barely make 154, and then they rehydrate back up to 175 or whatever before the bell.

    That isn't healthy.

Hell, Hagler defended his middleweight title a couple times weighing 157 the day of the fight. I think Ray Robinson defended the middleweight title weighing 153 (seven pounds under the limit). Middleweight champions actually got in the ring and defended their titles while they still weighed under their division limit.

Because they fought in divisions where they were in their best shape.

If, when they were in their best shape, they weighed 153, then they fought in the 154-pound division.

Now they enter the ring 20 pounds OVER the limit because they never could actually compete at the weight they weighed in at.

It actually makes fights LESS safe.

If they moved weigh ins beck to a couple hours before a fight, all the titles except heavyweight would go vacant ... because none of those champions could actually step in the ring and fight for 12 rounds in the actual division they are supposed to rule.

    That's nonsensical. There's a big problem there.

Moving weigh ins back a day has proven to be a failed experiment.

Know the history of why the boxing commission changed the rules.

Your right, it usually would take him longer to KO his opponent but now his KOs are even better.

Not even a weight bully at 160 tbh, looks like something went wrong during his camp. He looked in MUCH better shape weeks before the weigh in and looked super **** weighing in, all his muscle definition gone and just looked fat

This is a common thing for fighters to get fatigued, dizzy while cutting weight all the time. Why they publicized Munguia is not fair to him but most likely because like you, everyone is hating on him for some weird reason. Moving weigh-ins back a day has saved numerous lives and for you to say it's a failed experiment tells me you don't know what you're talking about. Its the rules and the rules were changed
for a good reason, to save lives. Munguia got a raw deal from the media showing him dehydrated but most boxers go through the same thing.
