your giving props to a current world champion for moving up in weight and fighting spike o Sullivan? Your easily impressed mate !!
Relative to some of the walkovers we poor fans are subjected to, this is praiseworthy. A fight may break out !
Len, I'm sorry but this is absolute nonsense. What part was unlucky, exactly? He went on and on about Lemieux's 'one trick' and then get iced with it. That wasn't unlucky, that was because Spike isn't very good. I hope Munguia busts the domestic level domestic abuser up real good.
Why? Because Spike got violently KO'd by a violent KO artist? Everyone blows smoke up their own ass when hyping a fight, I'm not going to hold him to some insane standard. Munguia on the other hand, got schooled by Hogan, and was handed one of the biggest robberies of last year. That is vicious ass whipping worthy, while yeah, I know he didn't fill out the scorecards, but Golden Boy did, so by proxy, a KO loss would even it out. Sadly, I doubt Spike is the man for the job. But I hope I'm wrong.
I don't think Munguia is any good either really but I still think he'll batter Spike. I can't take to Spike at all. He's a contrived character who for my money quit against Eubank Jr and gets fights for being 'wacky' more than his achievements in the ring. An irish Dave Allen.
What's that? A guy who blasts out a British level bum and immediately let's it go to his head and he starts thinking he's a world beater? That's pretty endemic in this sport the world over, but yeah Spike and Dave have had some pretty colossal blow ups.
Indeed, and I do think he'll make it a fun scrap for as long as it lasts this weekend too. Len comes out with all kinds of excuses for Irish fighters, so he unearthed some of my anger toward Spike as a result.
Spike was too dominant in the short while it lasted. He got complacent. Had he continued to box with caution he could possibly have gone on to win. But he stopped I front of lemieux. Yes I know he should not have , and it was his own fault etc but a bit like herol Graham against Julian Jackson he got one and done by a guy he was comfortably outboxing. That IS at least in part, unlucky. Now please stop with the domestic abuser nonsense or you'll attract unwelcome attention from Sugar 88. Like a shark sniffing blood in the water one whiff of scandal attached to a thread involving Len, and the social justice warrior Sugar 88 is all over it like a rash. He's attacked me for supporting Spike in the past as I recall.
Unlucky ? lol.. I predicted Spike wouldn't stand a chance Lemiuex and thats exactly how it turned out. Leumiex is a faster , bigger and much harder hitting version of Spike. There's no scenario imaginable where Spike would ever be even remotely competitive against Lemiuex. https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...ux-at-the-final-presser.614668/#post-19401665
The fight turned out like you predicted. But that was just a lucky guess. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
Unfortunately Spike cannot win by decision. Hogan proved that. So he might as well go for it from the first bell and try for the ko.
