    They took it to the NSAC. So apparently Munguia absolutely was their first choice. NSAC (surprisingly) denied him as an opponent.

    Basically that's right, although just for correctness: Loeffler hadn't officially taken Munguia to NSAC. Instead he was warned in advance that it would not be sanctioned. It's fair to say that Munguia was going to get the fight until the NSAC intervention.

    Its bad from a boxing fan perspective. It would have been a ridiculous fight for a 7 year champion at the top of his division to take.

    However, most of GGGs loyal fans seem to care very little about quality opponent and prefer to see GGG brutally destroy his opposition. I get the sense that they care more for KOs than quality of competition.

    Don't know who you're talking to - but on here there was pretty much universal condemnation of the fight from even some of GGG's biggest fans. I don't know anyone who wanted to see GGG vs Munguia.

    Not sure it was "really easy" as Eubank Jr took some decent shots but he did beat Spike into submission.

    I happen not to rate Spike, and I think GGG will KO Spike brutally if the fight occurs. IB rates him though ... so I could be wrong.

    But he also had Eubank on the back foot doing his best Roy Jones Jr impression.

    He's already signed by GBP for US fights, and I think they're going to foot his entire purse to lower their liability in court if they don't make a reasonable punitive settlement with K2, GGG PROMOTIONS, GGG himself and HBO.

    Might as well save a mil feeding him to GGG making HBO happy with big drama show, and help build up a Sept date with GGG looking his usual invincible self rather than seeing him chasing Andrade around and dropping him with feigns

    Spike fight sucks but hey at least it’s tolerable
    He’s a middleweight ranked in top 10 by two governing bodies
    That Munguia fight was Salka 2.0 and would have made me root against ggg
