You know what I'm loaded drunk and wasn't considering weight classes. I'm less than informed on MMA these days and just assumed the dudes ppl mentioned as potential fights were near his size lol.

 

These haters want Paul-Breidis next ffs.. Lol

 

Silva looked like he was pulling his punches

How much money did he make tonight? Was it his career highest purse?

Easily his biggest I would say.

 

Nah he looked 47 years old. He was too slow, Jake was too fast for him. Silva couldn’t close the distance, that’s why he kept switching to make up ground. Jake’s biggest improvement was his defense. Because Silva couldn’t land cleanly he looked hesitant (hence you thinking he was pulling his punches). That switching is what got him knocked down. Hopefully Jake realizes his power isn’t all that, and he keeps working on his boxing skills. He still cocks his right hand as if he thinks he’s Deontay Wilder. It isn’t the weapon he thinks it is. I guess that’s what fighting retired basketball players and UFC fighters smaller than you does to you.

 

Gotta give him his dues. When Paul first entered the sport, I hated it. Thought it was a cash-grab only. Maybe it was at first but he's had six fights now and improved in each. Six fights, six camps. Whether we like it or not he's a fledgling pro boxer now and should be treated as such. We all know the first few fights on the resume of a high profile name are non-contests and Paul is no different.

As with anyone, you wait for the step up in class after which you reassess his potential. That said, at some point (soon) he's going to have to face an opponent whose background is exclusively boxing...

 

I'm not starting anything

I only caught the highlights (i am in the UK) and Silva looked sloppy at times in there and looked like he was reaching with his punches. I will have to rewatch entirely to make a proper assessment.

Still a great performance from a 47 year old man.

Credit where credit is due. If he follows through with his fighters union pension plan and carries on highlight how shady these promoters are then even more kudos to him.

I do want him to start facing real fighters now.

So far, all of his opponents have an asterisk next to their names.

Maybe an asterisk lol, but what do people think a former Disney star should do? Beat guys like Okolie or Breides? Paul is nothing more than a novelty item and people should just appreciate him for his entertainment value. Nothing more, nothing less.
