Not highly at all .Satterfield was a 22 year old kid having his 17th fight. Lamotta had 72 fights under his belt
I don't think it was that important at the time. Satterfield was a Chicago fighter who was showing promise and the local promoters were testing him out to see if he could advance in stature as a world-class fighter. As McVey indicates, he was pretty green, and his day had not yet come. In retrospect, it was a good win for LaMotta, but not career defining.
Keep Jake moving. I think it’s preposterous to think a mobbed-up LaMotta was made to tank a fight yet we’re not supposed to believe the mob never did the opposite to help him win.
Why would they need to get Satterfield to go into the tank, Lamotta was favourite to win? Satterfield had recently lost to Holman Williams and had beaten nobody of note.Lamotta was not mobbed up he resisted the mobs overtures and that is precisely why he had to wait so long to get his title shot, tanking ONE fight to get it.Think about it mate!
He threw a fight for the mob. That means he was doing business with the mob. That is the definition of mobbed up.
